I got this cell phone in late 2016, it came with Lollipop, I updated it to Marshmallow, but I did not keep that, I currently have it with Nougat with the Lineage distribution and I look forward to updating it to Oreo. But not everything was honey on flakes, came with a problem with the battery, in ASUS could not help me or the process was being very long with the tests without meaning they asked me to do, I ended up buying a new battery and I changed it myself . Is a good cell phone and that is the 2GB version of RAM at 1.83 GHz. It was not so easy to unlock the bootloader and make it root, but once made is just like other cell phones to install ROM's since recovery. The 3000 mAh battery lasts depending on the use they give you. The screen does not have the desired brightness, but with the correct settings it plays videos in 4K. I would buy it again.

Bought it on in July 2016, there was a sale on B&H. It was great when such cheap phone had so great power, but it became hot even after 30-minutes of casual gaming. And after a year the screen stopped rendering the bottom side, then both SIM died and after that even speaker stopped working.
This is motherboard issue which costs 120$. Very bad!

A total garbage of a phone, very sensitive touchscreen and it touches by itself and sometimes doesn't work, no native app for videocall, the back button is not backlit and it can also be bendable easily so you must take good care of it and the plastic at the back brokes near the audio jack and it slides down making whole thin plastic USELESS. It still works but touchscreen and weak quality is a NO NO for me, I will buy Nokia 8 new one instead.

Asus zenfone 2 is good. I like the specs and its speed for games is awesome :)
I only had a software problem that sim 2 slot is not detected and have it repaired in Asus service center for free due to warranty. It works fine now. My only problem now is my charger, the cable is easy to lose and it takes me a day to charge my phone to 100%.

Today marks the day when my Asus Zenfone 2 dies. SIM 1 is no longer detecting my SIM card, meaning it is useless. Been using it since September 2015. Sent it for repair for quite sometime. My secondary slot for SIM only recognizes the sim inserted for ~5 mins before the signal disappears. I believe most users are facing SIM issues. Charger adapter was broken after several months of use, got it replaced with a new one, and went broken again after few more months (no more replacement since the warranty is over). Battery life is not that long. The screen always gets unlocked automatically when the phone is in my pocket.
No more ASUS phones for me. I used their tab before this and it was disappointing as well.

I bought this phone a year back and i guess this work works fine till the warranty date. I have a serious problem with this phone been changing the ASUS cable and the charging adaptor right from the Asus service centre (Hyderabad) and still my phone has a crazy CHARGING PROBLEM. Very poor service they don't give a damn about checking my phone's hardware/software. I reset my phone multiple times yet it shows unsupported power adaptor and sometimes it just go dead in the middle. Never ever going to buy ASUS again.

2 days ago suddenly the front camera stopped working, couldn't find the button in the camera app, couldn't do video calls on Whatsapp, couldn't even use the Asus mirror app. Anyone experiencing something similar? Is it time to get a new phone? (If yes please recommend an Android to me! Thanks:))

I bought this phone on September 2015. Lately I've experienced a random overheat and battery drains way too fast, it only last like less than 4hrs with average usage (surfing internet, facebooking) and sometimes it couldn't detect my sim card which scares me the most. The camera are excellent but videos are horrible. Very choosy when it comes to USB for charging. But overall, it still working good.

Bought this phone last year for me and my brother. We liked it at first time. Really loved it. Good performance for first 2 months. After that, everything is so slow and unable to read sim card, ghost touch, blurry camera, battery problems, etc. After I read all the comments in here, now I know that it's the phone itself. Good for you whose phones still good. But for us whose phones got problems, won't buy ASUS anymore.

I got this phone in 2015, july, 2/16. This phone makes a great headache.. It has some issues, first the unexpected removal of SD card, which actually is a software issue (mine got repaired in 2016 software update), and until today I never have android upgrade (mine still run with lollipop)..
Recently, my phone start having sim card undetected issue, which is purely hardware issue (my sim card is working fine in another phone, thank you) and I got tired of this phone 'attitude' just want to throw this phone and got new one instead. Battery is not good, but I don't have any expectation with that.

bought this in 2015.. has unexpected removal of SD card issues, and then it got fixed in 2016 software update.. my phone hasn't got any android update (still run with lollipop), battery is no good but it's expected..
it got worse now because of sim card not detected issue (what a phone without sim card, a stone?).. I'm sure the problem is purely hardware because my sim card work completely fine with another smartphone.. got tired of this zf2 and considering to buy a new phone

While opening the back case cover using my finger naila, it cracked. The crack is now about 3-4 mm. It's very thin and there is flexing. It should not break in the normal opening of the back cover. Now I'm afraid to upgrade my microSD card.

Was very excited to buy this phone a year ago or so. It looked good, specs seemed fantastic and all. And for a while it worked great. Only complain was the case design: a bit to thin to hold it properly with one hand, although it looked cool, a silicone case fixed the grip problems...
After only a couple months, the screen shattered while in my pocket, probably keys. This things happen. At least it still worked.
A couple of months later, screen turned black and phone stoped working, right in the middle of a panoramic picture session at the beach. To much heat perhaps?
Got it repaired, new original screen installed and some other hardware problem. Official Asus Service in Spain sucked, so I did it in a not official but professional shop. New screen worked perfect, Phone was as new!
2 months later, screen starts to work oddly, not recognizing touch properly. Couple of weeks later, smashed the screen again on my pocket. Gorilla glass my ass!
So after 1.5 years of buying, I'd say is is quite fragile, and kinda lemmony. I'm in a hurry to get another phone.
It looks great, seems like it could have been a great phone, but it sucked ass big time, in my experience. A shame for Asus, an otheriwse great company.
