This phone worked great at first. Now, a few months into it, the phone continues to tell me no sim is detected. It is random, but it is happening more and more. I tried restarting...no help. I tried re-inserting the sim card...no help. Now I can only use it basically on WIFI. A waste of my $200 investment!

I have had this phone now for just over a year, and it works fine in every regard. Photos are great; video is superb, and the cost was reasonable. Frankly, I consider it a beautiful phone and am totally pleased with it. The ONLY complaint is that it comes with loads of useless bloatware which you cannot remove.

I have absolutely no problem with this phone. I have been using it for a long time, more than a year now and its superb. Best is the 64 gb it gives, so no need of getting memory card.

I charged my phone to 100% before I slept, then today... this morning... my zenfone 2's battery had only 18% left because it open itself all night. It stuck into emergency call screen all night. I already gave up this phone since today. I'll buy other brand phone. Any recommendation?

I'm using this phone for 6 months and no problem at all. I wonder how can people only using this phone for a few weeks and it already having problem. This phone has a decent graphic quality, fast processing speed, and quite accurate gps functions. Zenfone 2 actually a great phone for a cheap price.

I bought this phone thinking it would last for a long time but unfortunately it died after 3 weeks of use. The screen went black and the LED light did not turn on. I even sent the phone for repair while the warranty was still valid but they told me i had to pay over 200$CAD to repair the motherboard...since it was not included in the warranty...
Just do yourself a favor and don't buy this phone. It's a waste of money and time!

ASUS - Please consider focusing and improve on your PC's only, so at least people will not stop buying it! And please do everyone a favor - leave the phone industry, because you just cant do it!

using this since 2015 the first time ze551 were introduced, it performs perfectly as a mid-ranger, the camera is brilliant with its manual control and color contrast, although recording from this device and a lot details were missing in the camera result.
performance? the stock rom (5.0) is bloated and runs like a snail, but it got fixed after the 6.0 update because most bloatware removed, flashing custom 7.1 rom will give you a boost and it is more faster, have no performance drop issues until now and currently still using it as a "primary phone" .

I bought this phone on april 2016, on january 2017 lcd display blurr on half phone, not even a year.. after fixing it.. again on june 2017, touch test fail on the middle of the phone.. very dissapointed, i have a first generation asus zenfone, and still working just fine until now so i bought zenfone 2 coz expecting the same thing.. asus seems to decrease in quality on zenfone 2..

It seems to be due to the fact that laptop hasn't the driver for the Intel processor of the phone, and the phone blocks itself to "protect". Try to open the phone, and disconnect the wire from battery to mainboard. It worked for me. Good luck. You can find tutorials on youtube.
