Phone kinda broke. Bought it for my mom. Phone started clicking itself and the screen is blurry. Bought it in 2016 November. Broke today July 2017. It's not even a year yet. Great specs, but ASUS DOES NOT LAST LONG.

AnonD-682862, 07 Jul 2017This is a flat out lie and you know it. EVERY phone company... moreWow, chill out dude. That person only said that and you accused him/her for being a flat out lie? Seeing a lot of negative comments, I don't think that person is a liar.

I agree with you, nothing is perfect. But seeing these comments and ppl who defended ASUS makes me realize this phone makes everybody crazy.

I'm not using ASUS myself, just searching for cheap phone and saw a lot of negative comments. Won't buy ASUS since there's a lot of negative comments.

Although Samsung made mistake with note 7, they pulled that item out of the market and they apologized to their customers. I don't know about other brands though.

Not even 2 years in mine had already died. Common problem too. Can't charge (indicator off) and can't turn on. Remained dead and it vibrates twice every (about a minute) until the battery drains completely. Search on YouTube for this problem and you will see a lot of fix suggestions (that are not necessarily successful). If you are lucky and your warranty is still active you can get it repaired otherwise if you're like me with a little over a year usage you will be dumbfounded and not be able to do anything except sacrificing almost half of its initial value to repair if (if you're willing, even the repair shop told me it's a waste of money). If you are very lucky the solution to the can't charge problem is as easy as removing the backcover, unscrew everything at the back, detach the battery pin and reattach (you wish you're this lucky obviously it didn't work for me). If you look at the market price now, the price plummeted to a third of its initial selling price.

Tip: Next time buying a phone, buy two phones (1 for work 1 for leisure) and always research on the phone's common problems. Or get extended warranties.

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2017A good phone should work for every customer not only for a few! This is a flat out lie and you know it. EVERY phone company has phone issues. Hello. Remember the exploding Samsungs like year? It's only the negative reviews that stick out with people and with companies like Asus who are trying to make a bigger impact in the smartphone market it can hurt them (while giants Samsung and Apple have many if not more problems and you barely hear a thing from people like you but will flood Asus, OnePlus and Axon videos/articles with negative comments)

Been using the phone for awhile and eventually got that ghost touch... a few months later I bust the screen while trying to not drop it in a camp fire. Ended up replacing the screen myself for about 28 usd. Still works fine, still is a beast. You hear all those people complain about ghost touch, just replace the screen.... It's not that hard...

I bought this phone on July 2015 and used it until July 2017, for about $300.
Lets say its a okay phone.
The first time i'm did system update, my phone restart every minutes, because we know go to CS never went well, so i try reboot my phone, and luckily it solve the problem (so i never update my phone for almost 1.8 years, and rarely shut down or restart my phone because somehow it trigger "the restart problem", until recently i did the system update, and "the restart problem" did not happen, so lets say i'm paranoid, but yeah,,,)
The performance was ok, even though have 4 RAM, i did not notice the difference. it's still lag and sometimes freeze when i playing game.
My friends complain about the heat when charge and play game, it happens to me too, but i still can tolerate that.
From my phone, the best thing is the picture, i satisfied with the quality, even until 2 years (i just use it in moderation, and for personal used only)
Lately my touch screen not responsive, and eventually in the middle of my screen about 2 cm gap not responsive at all.
That's the end of my journey with my ASUS, LOL,,, i hope we can last much longer
but i'll pass ASUS phone for now

I've been using this ZE551ML phone for more than 2 years already ( I bought it when it was launched) and had to say its still good. The only issue I had with it are the battery life and ghost touch, it happen when the phone gets hot, it's not intermittent but it's annoying when it happened. Apart from it, it is still a decent phone with LTE, NFC and more than other phone without one.
The battery drains fast because it use intel atom soc (which is a cheap powerhouse soc back then) which now asus decide to drop it and use snapdragon instead.

Sometimes it bothers me to read comment from adults filled with lies!
How can someone in their right mind say ASUS ZENFONE2 ZE551ML is suck? That's a lie!
I have used Samsung phones and have used over 10 Sony phone(am a did hard Sony user) not until a deal introduced ASUS to me. 8months now no issue, it's works well.
Sometimes when people say cracked screen, home key damage etc I sense an irresponsible use of mobile devices by this people~even if the casing is made of Alloy ore an irresponsible user will always find a way to damage it and blame someone.
This phone is among the best 2 phones I have ever used.

AAA, 03 Jul 2017Wow, so many bad reviews. Mostly with the ghost touch. Is t... moreIt is that bad. Imagine this: having a video swipe left and right when you are watching video and while you are looking at instagram, it swipe up and down by itself. It really pissing me off. And because of this ghost touch, the battery drains so fast yet the battery is already bad to begin with. When mine already 6 months, the home button, the return button, and the screen shot button broken. Now, I'm using assistive touch app. The camera is bad too, very blurry. The casing easy broken. I was changing my sim cards and plugging earphone and it's cracking already. Really not recommended Asus phone.

I've bought this phone 2 years ago, I'm still using it and it's still going strong! Good performance, decent battery life, big amount of RAM, still gets updates from Asus even after more than 2 years since the phone was released. I only had a battery drain problem once, took the phone to the Asus service in my area and they replaced the battery and since then it's been running as intended again. Running it on Marshmallow. A phone that is still a good choice, even in 2017!

Bought this phone September 2015 and been using it until 3 weeks ago. Overall, it was a great phone. Three weeks ago, it won't charge then eventually it won't power on. At first I thought maybe the charger was the problem. Tried charging it via PC/other chargers.

Took it to an Asus service center. They said they were going to diagnose the phone first to find out what the problem is. JFC, it took them a week (and they almost lost the phone). So they tried replacing the battery and the LCD. It powered on for a while. They said the problem was "probably" the mainboard. (I don't really know much about that stuff so anyway...)

I didn't want to get a new phone yet so I asked how much it would cost for the repair. Costs add up to 6000PHP (around 120USD). Lol. I'd rather buy a new phone with that money.

                            Asus service center sucks. Lolololol.

I actually samsung user, before move on to this Zenfone 2, I'm on Samsung Galaxy S4, I like samsung S4 but just because of battery draining fast most of samsung model, I change my phone to zenfone 2.. so far as I'm using it quite nice until this lately I noticed that quality of picture captured by this zenfone 2 camera can't defeat the samsung S4 camera quality, I just love the display bigger than S4 and the battery more saver than S4.. after latest update by asus before some minor bug dumping my phone.. like drop calling, and some of built-in apps not running as usually.. it going to not responding.. it bother me...

I owned this phone from summer 2015 to spring 2017. It faced numerous hardware problems, including both SIM card readers failing in August 2016. I hung on as long as I could, but other problems came up (constant overheating, poor camera issues, constant app incompatibilities due to the x86 processor, and an extremely buggy Marshmallow update that broke compatibility with many other apps). Customer service was useless throughout, and the Marshmallow update came extremely late, long after it was promised. When confronted, they did not accept their error, instead editing their original comment on their forums promising the update deadline. Their Marshmallow update was a buggy beta at best, and after that ASUS abandoned the ZenFone 2 for the most part (the phone only got one major Android update).

I happily replaced my ZenFone 2 and will never buy a mobile phone from ASUS again.

Never buy asus phone you will regret within 1 month and the customer service is the worst one. They do not know if your phone is under warranty or not. They tell you to send your phone to service center and later ask for repair money citing your phone is not under warranty. Asus phone is the worst phone you will ever buy.

I purchased this phone in 2016. Long story short. Till this day 6/23/2017, this is the most expensive phone I have ever purchased and by far the worst. Most importantly it does not hold a charge. It will cut off automatically, during a conversation. It is constantly upgrading apps which consumes more data space. I personally believe, that ASUS should refund any customer, with a complaint, on this phone. I could only imagine how bad the other phones were.....DO NOT PURCHASE ANY ASUS ZENFONES. They are making tons of money for small technology......ASUS, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.....THIS IS FRAUD!
