I use this phone for 8-10 hours a day with charge once.
Each of the phone especially budget smartphones have pros and cons.

Absolutely amazing phone, you won't get anything like it for $200. I've been in cellular retail for 9years and I laugh at people buying $600 smartphones and now $1000 Iphones. I rather go on vacation!
Updates to KitKat went quick, no problems. The phone is incredibly snappy, much faster than my HTC one M8. Benchmarks tell otherwise but it must be either the UI or Intel's way better utilization of Ram than ARM processors. Camera is fun to play with, love it.
Battery is smaller than most 5inch smartphones at 2000mah and I use dual sim cards so it does run out faster. The simple solution is disable your data sim when at home and your wifi when away and bingo much better battery life. You can even get apps that automate this for you.
Love the phone, great job Asus...show people how much a phone should cost!

My battery has draining even faster after updating all the asus aps in the google play store... I wonder wtf is Asus doing...
@junjun, Just as amit said, aslong as its asleep, u loose battery very slow. The moment u switch on the screen and start using any ap, battery start to drain really fast. Even the keyboard consumes like 20-25% battery if u type for 10 mins. I normally use hike msngr with no other ap running in the background and my battery drops by 20% in 40 mins... I hope this gives you an idea regarding the battery life.

So i can take it as the ba... moreno, like i said it depends upon you, what this phone lacks is optimization,but however what this phone lacks in battery ,it covers up in other aspects like camera and performance so i think its not that bad at all, although this phone is not that good for a heavy gamer

when you are not using it mean on standby ,the battery drains at really low rate but when you use it for any application then it drains really fast.
so its upto you how you use this phone. battery life will depend upon it

Hi.... Can anyone tell me about Zenfone 5's battery life.. I have heard from many that battery life comes up to 3-4 hrs only; and this is making me think twice on buying the phone... but cant stop looking back at the phone.... Pls comment..

But I dont get 5-6 hrs onscreen time.. I get around 3.5hrs onscreen.
I dont run 3-4 aps in background.
I dont use it a lot. I use it very less because of the low battery backup.
You said you use it very less but how can you get onscreen time of 8- 9 hrs if u r using it less? May be u use very less aps. I dont use many either..
I guess zenfone battery is indeed weak and nothing can be done about it.
I haven't rooted my phone. Will do that sometime in future and check.
