one thing i have noticed that t solve the battery issue, the only thing asus can do is optimization, they have to make a way for apps to use less battery.. if you all had noticed, that the lowest cpu freq of this phone is 800mhz whereas in every other phone its arounf 300 mhz so even if this phone runs at lowest clock ,it still using mre battery than other phones, asus should add more lower frequencies to kernel, also there is a hope that android l will improve the battery and also cyanogen mode will bring better optimization when it will come so guys keeps the hopes up

Hi all, I am using Zenfone5 . after I update version to KitKat, I can not connect data internet APN . the screen pop up that " unfortunately, settings has stopped " . do any one here have solutions to fix this issue? I am really appreciate for your response. Thanks

can someone test & tell me if the compass & GPS function works.
Please note I'm asking about GPS & not A-GPS. So move the sim card to airplane mode & then check if you can get your location tracked.
This will be very helpful in my decision making.

My final opinian for this phone.. If asus manage to fix heating problem and put bigger battery.. Meaning optimase Atom for Android (if its posible) andregarding that i had togive the first back becose was defective(started to not recognise that there is sim cards in it and reboot repedetly) That phone is best for its price. No hang multiple app use whit no problem. Disent camera. Good reseption, 3g, wi-fi, exelent headphones and sound. The display is oasum too a litle bot dimm but very sharp fot the dpi 294. Finaly if you are not heavy user by this phone!!

Even connected to charger, no orange led light appear. I've tried press power, volume button. no response shown from my zenfone 5.

I recently bought this phone, it is simply awesome. I have both moto g(2nd gen) and Zenfone 5, but believe me ZF5 is way better in performance,design,camera and just everything. Price at 9999 inr it surely is a steal deal...

AnonD-328788, 08 Nov 2014how to do that? 2 days without internet connection and let ... moreInstalled permissions manager, looked at the Battery to find out what apps were killing the battery, of which Google Play Services were far the biggest offender, followed by Facebook messenger and app...
Opened permissions for each of these apps and found out what permissions not only they had but also used. I deemed many of those being nothing that app should be using, so I shut them down.
Amongst them were access to microphone, camera, location, my call history and SMS/MMS contents, etc.
Where I wasn't sure, I set it to ask every time, so I could determine when it uses it.
That has doubled my battery life alone.
I am on 2.20 Kitkat beta release, have 2 SIMs (1x 850/2100 MHz 3G SIM, 1x 1800 MHz 2G SIM), connected to an N+ range Netgear router at home, and using 3G outside. Signal of both of them is full at all the times with the tower being 5-10m from me.
Screen is set to automatic brightness, with slider in the centre, with default battery saving (middle) option chosen.
I am not a gamer, but I do use it for 3x email (Exchange, Yahoo and Gmail), Line, What'sApp, Viber, sometimes Skype.
I also read news on it, and use it for appointments (calendar sync with Exchange).
Sometimes I use it for photography, but not much if any for video.
What else... there is a 64 GB Sandisk micro-SD card, class 10 - U1 plugged in as well, where all the photos/videos/music/movies go.
There are some movies on it as well, but it's been ages since I watched any on it. For that, screen is still too small, prefer the 84" TV for that.
Charging is done from Samsung Galaxy 2 charger, which has 2.5A and takes 2-3 hours.
Right now, I have taken phone off charger 1 day and 6 hours ago, and have 59% of battery remaining.
