They'll give you instructions on how to collect the logs, and let them know what's going on, so they can advise you if this is a software or hardware issue, and help you resolve it.
Apologies that I can't be of more help.

[deleted post]I used permissions manager, Aps Ops Starter.
On top select LOCATION, then tap on Google Play services. Switch location from ON to OFF.
While there, you can refuse it access to anything else you think it should not do.

Dear Tomazz sir,
How you killed location access to Google Play Services and weather using app op starter.
I have installed it when you suggested for the first time but still sometimes Google Play Services starts on their own for location access.

Exactly how long will zenfone 5 last? I might use 3G, and screen time around 1-2 hours.

But understand that software improvements can only do that much in extending battery life. They can not do miracles.
And Atom is still one power hungry beast, and so is the GPU that is built in. Atom is unlikely to ever come down to power consumption of ARM processors, but per core, it smokes ARM processors in speed by doing far more commands per cycle.
That said - putting a 3G game on an quad core ARM phone with 3000 mAh battery didn't last any longer than ZenFone 5.

Install it, run it, enable it, pick the apps and shut down their permissions to services they should not be using.
If you're unsure, use Always Ask.
In fact, if I were you I'd set all to always ask. Then you can see what is really needed and what is not.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2014Dear Amit,
but are you still able to access play store ?... moreYou don't need to stop entire Google Play Services (and yes, Playstore will still work), but what you should do is disable location access for it.
Beats me why a shop which already knows who you are should be spying on your movements every 5 seconds through GPS positioning.

amit, 04 Nov 2014guys happy news, i just found out the reason for the pathet... moreIf you read (now probably many) pages back, when the KitKat battery life discussion first started, you'll see me thrashing the Google Play Services and Weather widget for halving my battery life, and when I killed location access to them (that's what the permission manager is for) the battery life instantly doubled.
Another thing was that some apps that had camera access in permissions kept on turning camera on, which caused phone to overheat and kill the battery. However the battery fix should have fixed that. Still, I rather manually disable access to camera and microphone to apps that I deem do not need it.
But you are absolutely on the right track.
Sadly - people here are blaming Asus for it, but it's Google's own services that kill battery.

S Asif, 04 Nov 2014Dear Tomazz
I got my Zen5 a couple of weeks ago, i immedi... moreYou did full factory reset so it has already replaced any leftovers from JellyBean, so you should be fine.
As for battery - I recommend you permissions manager and disable permissions to everything that you think should not need them. Like why should Facebook have permissions to send SMS and MMS or make phone calls without your knowledge? Or why should a game have access to your camera, microphone, etc.
Using it on Asus I get 2 days+ of battery life out of it, and on Oppo Find 7 (yes, that phone that's supposed to have pathetic battery life) I am on 65% now, and I took it off the charger at 7 am YESTERDAY.
Both Asus and Oppo run beta builds of Kitkat.

AnonD-325676, 04 Nov 2014Dear Tomazz sir,
My current version is asus_T00J_ww_2.19... moreDear Nik,
Let me clarify. I was afraid that he might try to install 1.18.40.9 over a KitKat or something like that, which of course would not work. He would have to have an older version than 1.18 for that steps to work.
As for you - yes, the next version will have the complete OS including the patches in it, and what I would suggest you to do is to make automatic backup to your Gmail set up, so when you upgrade, you can do a full reset, then restore from backup, and your phone should be like new... except with new firmware version and all your settings and apps back :)
