Zen 5 is prfemnc is awsm usng snce 1month 12 days..xcpt its default storage cant be changed to sd card so any files u download or share it goes on ur sd card.. causing intrnl mmry shrt... nd battry its discharging 1% per 1 min.. after kitkat version .. any1 can hlp me out through this..???

One thing that you may wish to do is open up the permissions manager (you can download it for KitKat as well, it's under name of App Ops Starter - it works on Zen), and stop Location access to apps that don't need it.
And while there you could also prevent them from sending SMS or making phone calls, reading your call logs and messages, etc. for stupid apps that absolutely should not have any need for it.
I mean why should say a photo collage need to make calls, read your phone logs, send messages, know your location, turn on microphone and camera without your knowledge (when you can only use gallery pics), etc.
Shut off what apps should not have access to, and that'll also save your battery.
Now note - Google claims that the reason they removed it was because it was experimental anyway, however the real reason is that they make money on you by spying and ability for you to turn their spying off hurt them financially. From 4.4.4 onwards there's no permissions manager that works, and even in 4.4.2 the stock Android has a camera update that breaks it.
So use it while you can. It won't last forever.

AnonD-279813, 20 Oct 2014About battery draining faster in 1.18.40.10 than 1.18.40.9?... moreHi tomazz day b4 yesterday oly i updated the phone to 1.18.40.9 after the few min i got notification for 1.18.40.10 for 20mb i updated that also after that i done a factory reset from boot menu and the installed the apps after that my battery goes on draining it drains at operational and little bit on standby too plz help me to resolve it....

Actually i am not that heavy user so not affecting much. so i didn't downgraded. If anyone using even more than average i would recomend downgrading.

It happened with me whenever i used a different cable(cable with led smiley used with my laptop and another cable with my powerbank used with asus charger ) with me. then after restarting it became fine. From that day i am not using those cables.

And another thing on the speaker volume.
A long time ago I've used "Music Volume EQ" on the HTC... it allows you to make your speaker louder, both the speakerphone and the headphone.
Obviously not the ringing.
Maybe you want to give it a try. It's a freeware.

Not like it makes any difference, but at least you would know if they tried to sell you BS.

adjsl, 20 Oct 2014Fantastic remark ! i would like to appreciate you for this.I won't appreciate because i am enjoying KITkat update now. It given me tremendous standby time. For examole, if i sleep at night with 50% battery remaining then at morning after wake up i am getting 47/48% battery remaining. Initially i thought of downgrading but after battery performance update ichanged my mind. Kitkat given more smoothness and new features. I can say i am very much comfortable with kitkat.

Guys, Just bring my Zenfone5 , a week back, but yesterday I was shocked When My mobile is not charging, I mean no power supply to my fone.
So shocked Why this is happen. Anyways, M gonna replace this with Flipkart..

I have a few other phones that have it included, and of course free apps that love to spy around don't like it when you shut down their access to turning on camera or listening in on your conversations without permission but otherwise I love to have a possibility to shut them off.
That said, Asus ZenUI does not contain Permissions Manager, and was probably downloaded manually - in that case just go to settings, apps, tap on it and uninstall it.
I'd reset all the permissions to ask every time, or allow first, before wiping it.
