I have purchased Asus Zenfone 5 from flipkart. It has hair like scratch/damage on top in corner of right side, which was not noticed initially noticed. When I noticed and contacted to flipkart then they refused to replace the product. They told me, you need to inform about this in 48hrs.
Now, I am facing another problem with this phone related to charging. When I put phone on charging then if it is at 50%... then though I get display of charging but even after 30 min, I find same charging percentage of 50%. Sometime, charging gets reduced even though it is put on charging, like that…40%, 35%..... 20%, 10%...
When I contacted to service center in Delhi then they refuse to avail warranty.
I chased for this phone for more than 1½ months and when it came, then… thus disappointments come.

asus india page on facebook is full of complaints on kitkat update.Same problems which i was facing too hot,too slow and faulty ui

Than the cause please? Yesterday phone battery temperature went to 49 degrees celcius why how? My usage is always mild.Service Centre Guy formatted the phone and when he tried to re-install the software, the installer software instead of showing my phone serial no.showed 12345ABCD so he was not able to install.
I have screen shots of battery temperature and faulty incall ui.Can u tell me the exact cause why it was working so fine for two months on jelly bean and sucked away in four days on kitkat! Why battery getting so hot, why battery percentag falling so fast and things like faulty incall ui blackening dialler screen for 2-3 minutes.
App data not reading for 5 minutes for a single app.No app ever downloaded from unknown sources,avast and dr web lite virus working on my set.Using same set of application since last two years on sony and now on asus.RAM showing just 356 MB-500 MB free on kitkat even while no new apps were downloaded or task initiated.
User available memory 3.1 GB out of 5 GB and 4.5 GB free in 8GB sd card.Used to keep phone nicely as one could keep himself,always used to praise asus for this phone u can see my last few weeks posting.
Just one question why the world changed to worse after kitkat update.Today i am feeling so low i cant describe,seeing my phone 70 of my friends/relatives have bought this phone.

Hi,
I ordered the Zenfone 5 today... and after ordering i just went through this forum and i really got scared by the feedback and the issues people have reported.. I am not sure whether buying this phone has been a wise decision or not as the features and the specs looked really promising...
Since i have ordered the phone now and cant return it... Can i please get a heads up from the current users regarding the dos and the donts..
Also should i upgrade the os to Kitkat or let it cling onto Jellybean..
I am not a gaming freak, i have basically bought the phone because i needed to access my mails, whatsapp (alot), skype, viber camera seemed good... wifi almost 15-20 hrs a day... and yes i wanted the phone to last atleast for a day...

There is an internal (in chipset) overheat protection, which would shut CPU down, causing a reboot if the temperature got too high, and at the same time the only way software could kill hardware would be by heat so high that the parts got ruined.
That's why I do not believe what they say, and I think any other service centre would raise eyebrows at a diagnosis like that.
OK, the phone could have an issue right out of the factory, and something could later push it over the cliff. But on its own, if there was no quality issue earlier, KitKat could not cause that.

This problem has been mentioned in their service RMA.Give me your mail i will scan and send it to u.
My phone serial no.is not showing in their service centre software and even i am surprised how can a software update ruin motherboard.
it this possible service center cheating on me and after changing motherboard will there be any problems? Plssss reply i am frustrated out of this

Hi, Anyone can explain, after update kitkat, miracast is connecting my smart TV. I swit on playto function. But peer is not finding. Is there any further setup required.

On my rooted phone, I freezed all the google and asus bloatware. Google backup transport is of the main sucker in android.
I don't play games. so i can't tell you about battery life with gaming. I'm quiet satisfied with battery life with general usage.

Dear Tomazz here is My email to asus taiwan,pls be very advise what to do.
Before kitkat update your asus zenfone 5 used to work very fine on jellybean but after update all these problems like black screen on faulty incall ui,phone battery getting hot and sd card not reading app data problems started.
When i contacted asus india support helpline they asked me to go to service centre in my city Jabalpur India and after telling these problems get your software degraded to jelly bean once again.
i gave my phone to compuage infocomm ltd jabalpur authorised service centre of asus zenfone. After an hour they told me that your motherboard has become faulty due to kitkat update and they will have to replace it.OS software is not loading from their software and mobile serial no.E6AZCY800863 was not showing as flash image on their software.
They have given me RMA no.INY54A0003
I am disgustedly surprised to know that in just two months my asus phone has gone faulty because of faulty kitkat update provided by your company over FOTA. Service centre in Jabalpur is not even having a single motherboard for replacement and it will take a week to come.
I was a great fan of asus but after this terrible incident i will never use asus products.What was my fault? I just updated successfully all updates u have sent on my mobile.
many people in india are facing the same problem,asus must replace my faulty phone instead of repairing.i am still surprised how a faulty update from your side can corrupt motherboard.
Kindly if you have any resources in india please ask them to replace my phone with a new one.Regards

is this phone still have a problem of WhatsApp stuff been downoading only from WiFi connection?
Is the GPS working fine?
The two observations were made by the reviwer about 6months back, still wondersing if the problem persists?
