I really like it and i didn't face any problems except battery is losing power so fast and charging fast too
I only want to make sure that battery is not in bad condition before i ask for changing the device it's giving me 4 hours of using plus 5 hours stand by mode
That's mean i should recharge the battery every 9 hours ...... I have Nokia XL which giving me 18 hours before charging ...... So 9 hours of asus this the normal or I have problem with the battery

Seems asus has cheated us after reading tomazz comments on intel atom processor. If they knew it is not optimised than why not snapdragon. After kitkat battery is droping very very fast.Fix it soon or migrate us back to jellybean or replace our phones.
I wonder that in this advanced technological era companies like asus/apple cant design a phone flawlessly

krish, 04 Oct 2014http://www.mega-networks.asia/ZenFone/ZenFone5_WW_Firmware/... moreThe file on the link is the last full OS update for JellyBean.
Now about battery it's like this:
KitKat offers a longer IDLE time.
Jelly Bean offers a longer USAGE time.
The IDLE time improvement is between 15-20%.
The USAGE time degradation would depend on what you do. In my usage pattern, I have not seen any, but other people saw significant drop in battery life.
Therefore - make your choice of whether you wish to run JB or KK.

AnonD-314791, 05 Oct 2014Hey
Thanks for your help bro.
Im using kitkat and it fin... moreI must agree that although standby time has improved somewhat with KitKat, the usage battery time hasn't.
So I went to ask my contacts about it, and they flatly blamed Google for it, and said that Google is working on a fix, but has not yet been released to them, but when it is, they will implement it into future firmware versions.
It also seems from amateurish tests, that CPU still can't switch whole core off when idle, both are still active, although it does look like some parts of the cores can be put to sleep. That is obviously disappointing and it is not sure whether this is Google's oversight or whether this is a limitation of the Atom platform for mobile.
So in essence - standby idle times were improved by the ability to turn some of the CPU functions off, squeezing about 15% longer standby time out of the battery used by Atom CPU. However when working, optimisations went towards speed rather than power consumption, making phone much snappier than in JB (not like it was slow in JB), but power consumption seems to have been secondary concern.
That this is Atom issue has now also been confirmed in a head-to-head comparison with A500KL in 3G. The phones are identical except for the GPU (which is much faster in A501CG) and the CPU (Atom 1.6 GHz dual core vs. Snapdragon 400, 1.2 GHz quad core).
Both running 4.4.2, the A500KL battery life is over 40% longer than that of A501CG. In 4G though, the battery life of LTE version is still very poor.
This would make only one short term solution - getting a snap-on power bank, if battery life is insufficient.

AnonD-314939, 05 Oct 2014Dear Tomazz thanks for your concern,i am facing a lot of pr... moreI am sorry to hear of your issues and I am sure that the Asus team will help resolve them.
Unfortunately it will not help to reload the same version of the firmware, as unless the phone was rooted, it would not see it as a newer version and as such would not install it automatically.
So no, reloading 800 MB file would not help.
What might help - but do that after sending the logs - is to reload the firmware from recovery partition.
How to do that:
- first of all make sure to backup your phone to gmail account
- now turn the phone off and wait 10 seconds
- simultaneously press power and volume down buttons and hold them until phone turns on and a "DOS" lookalike shows up on the screen
- press volume up to confirm that you want to run recovery mode
- choose full system recovery
- let it finish
- phone will restart to a stock latest version of the firmware, like if you just took it out of the box
- now restore your gmail account and redownload your apps
If that does not help, do NOT upgrade OTA to the next KitKat, but instead wait a couple of days until full 2.20 version is posted on Asus website, then load that one manually, as it will overwrite complete system you have now.
There are other ways but they are more likely to cause more troubles than they resolve, and as such I do better not list them here.
