To anyone who is rooted and messed/modified the system with xposed/adaway/buildprop etc it is advised to download whole KitKat fota file and do a manual installation like Tomazz said. Hats off.

1.18.40.10 does not exist as a full firmware, only as a FOTA.

So please follow instructions of one post below.

http://www.mega-networks.asia/ZenFone/ZenFone5_WW_Firmware/UL_ASUS_T00F_WW_2_19_40_6.zip

Then unzip it and copy the file from inside this ZIP (do NOT unzip any further!) to the internal storage of the phone, to root.

Once copying completes, unplug the cable. You should now see notification in the top bar.

AnonD-313233, 03 Oct 2014I want to wait for couple day to download it. But where I can do... moreYou can now download the official KitKat from here:

http://www.mega-networks.asia/ZenFone/ZenFone5_WW_Firmware/

The last one, 2.19.

Obviously you have all other firmwares from 1.14 onwards, should any be needed.

Those are full firmwares.

Please note that it is good to have 1.18.40.10 update installed before applying this new firmware, else it could fail during the upgrade. Not every time, but there's a high chance of failing.

So please first upgrade to 1.18.40.10. Then load this one.

g.C, 03 Oct 2014Hi Tomazz, Was reading all your comments bout Zen5 and Find5M... moreOppo Find series has a superior hardware and vastly better front camera, better speaker and to a point even battery life.

However where it falls flat on the face is where Asus beats pretty much all the competitors - and that's in the UI. The ZenUI is miles ahead of the ColorOS, both in terms of stability as well as usability.

And now that Oppo confirmed that KitKat will come with single layer UI (there are no six dots to go to apps drawer, but all is on single layer like iOS) I seriously start to hate it.

Another thing is about the apps on Oppo. For example the email app was probably designed by someone with 27" FHD monitor in portrait orientation, and that person (well, it's Addel Lai, actually - very cute girl and that saves from being flamed even more than she is) did not quite realise that when the same is displayed on a small screen is unreadable.

Maybe superman can see it. But I can't. Letters are like 0.2 mm tall.

Just oversights like these on the ColorOS make me use nearly exclusively Zen (on the go) for any emails or newsletters, while Oppo is usually used for the photography (despite the camera effects are heavily lacking on Oppo, but the overall quality of sensor is incredible) and various messengers.

So both have good and bad parts. Oppo's advantage is in hardware. Zen's advantage is in software and overall user experience.
