i mean some people are really looking for a power bank rather than a phone here.
u cannot expect the phone with 2100 mah battery with mind blowing specification to last for two days like the 4000 mah phones with non ips display , poor gpu , n that cheap quality mediatek chipset.
go buy htc desire 310
same price same battery as zenfone 5 n it will last 1 n half day or 2
and also enjoy 100 lags per day
218 ppi non ips display with pixelated icons n n games(if the device can run any except subway surfer)
n yeah 512mb ram.
n yeah those whose batteries are draining 30 , 40% without use, just replace ur handsets. the problem is with that particular device not with all zenfone 5 devices.

mici, 09 Sep 2014asus is bad, simcard cannot detech, i just bought for 2 wee... moreIt might be due to improper use and you used a trimmed sim card from regular sim. before inserting trimmed sim card you should have polish the edges of sim card.

Initially when it was new , i used to explore things in my phone, so due to heavy usage i got my battery last for 8-10 hour. Now i am fully familiar with phone, Now it lasts more than 15-16 hours with moderate usage. During inter state travel by train i am able to save considerable juice by closing 3g connectivity and making my phone available for Calls and some music. It lasts 20 hours without charging. I had a micromax canvas 2 which i sold definitely lasts little bit more but how... It has less resolution screen, dual core processor, touch sensitivity lesser than zf 5 (touch response 60m2), only accelerometer and proximity etc... not comparable to zenfone 5's performance and quality. Those are not satisfied with this gem, should spend more bucks and buy something else like sammy or htc what ever.

I just discovered a feature on this fone. When you select multiple photos in the gallery, it will give an option for Microfilm. This feature gives you a couple of predifined themes to create a photo slideshow of ones you chose. This fone is so cool.

However part of the reason for it is that JellyBean OS is not at all optimised for the Atom CPU, which should somewhat improve with KitKat update.
That said, this phone will not last as long as ARM counterparts, as Atom by default burns more power than a modern ARM architecture.
Then there is a high resolution (well, relatively high) screen of a reasonably large size, which is IPS. IPS screens have significantly higher power consumption than AMOLED (except in full contrast), and a lot higher than TN or IGZO displays. IPS brings better colour accuracy and wider view-angles, though, and is usually found on high-end devices.
I do not deny the under-performing battery, just saying that this is not because battery would have lower specs than advertised, but that the phone burns more power than many other phones.
Mentioned in several posts, you will also see that I discourage people who consider battery life more important than performance, from purchasing this product.

before buying ZF5 i was so exited but after i got disappointed not only for battery but phone is getting hit also with minimal use.just i did some installation
and browse some website totaly 30 min. but still it got hit. very precisely you explained about battery life by giving example of prosche and toyota that's good but even more application i am using in micromax canvas2 A110 but that battery running 24 hours in a wifi network and that have only 2000mh battery.
i dont think so ZF5 is will run for 5hr also in a same condition as micromax doing with 2000mh. dear friend please accept the glitch made by asus, there are many reviews on bad battery only.
