I have been using this phone for last 6 day... morehi sammy,
i also charge my phone with Samsung charger becoz my ZF 5 is getting heat while charging with Asus charger. in fact the electrical ratings of samsung charger is comparatively lower compare to zenfone charger.
& let me know how r u connecting ur phone to pc. iam facing problem to connect my ZF to pc, its not showing its internal or external memory space.

But one thing I wonder.
The firmware files are all around 675 MB in size.
Where did you get the 40 MB update of 1.17.40?

What you will need:
Intel USB Driver for Android
ADB Fastboot Tool
Asus Zenfone Firmware
How to update:
1. Turn off your Zenfone
2. Go to recovery mode by pressing power + volume down, android logo appears press volume up + down and then release volume up (still hold the volume down until recovery) then apply update from ADB option
3. Connect your Zenfone with USB Cable to your PC/laptop
4. Open command prompt in Windows (in the same folder where ADB is located)
5. Check connection by type adb devices if connection successful will be a list of zenfone device
6. Type adb sideload file.zip (file.zip=adjust the filename, asus zenfone firmware that you download earlier)
7. Wait until the process is complete
8. Zenfone will flash to clean thoroughly
This method can be used to downgrade , or that an error during install root ( root will disappear completely )

Seriously though - no, there are no LEDs behind these sensors nor any space to put them.

As for dropping the phone video - dropping it to wood is very different from dropping it on hard floor. Not Asus nor Corning ever claimed glass to be shatter proof, and if you hit it from bad angle, any glass can crack.
Then again, solution is so simple - get a bumper case for it.
The scratch test is what Gorilla glass is for. Although anything harder like a diamond could still scratch it, glass is scratch proof against accidental scratches in the pocket, through general use.
You can get shatter proof 9H glass protector for it for 10$ if that's not enough.
