I am facing heating issue too much. on 20th of august i have received this and too much heating issue while using any application even call.
second volume sound is too less. if you sit in room with four people you can listen song without headphone.
Battery backup is not good and if you use phone 4 hr then you will have to charge or connected with power.
Can any one help what should i do? replace this or any option to reduce heating issue and volume issue.
please help.

can you post your present battery usage chart?
I read a few opinions here and I plan on buying one. And when I make the purchase, can you tell the important things I should do first? like update the OS, completely drain the battery and charge it for 8-12 hrs, then set the powers settings etc... this would be my first time to own an android phone so I really have no idea..

It doesn't show the real battery percentage. When it comes around 50%, my phone turns off. And then when I charge it, it shows 1% battery charge. How can I fix this?

I purchased Asus Zenfone 5, 2 weeks back... I had updated to its latest version of 1.17.40.16 but still the battery backup is a big issue... And what you are saying about an icon in the notification bar of optimized mode, I can see none, though it is on optimized mode ... Please help me... My phone is almost 10 hours on flight mode but still the battery drains from 100 to almost 40... Even right now on 2G my battery drained from 100 to 50 in five hours...

I just recently bought ASUS Zenfone 5 - 8GB variant.
I have observed that the percentage of my battery drains almost every 5-6 mins when my phone is active, normally when the screen is awake and I am using any app or checking settings. I also make sure that no apps are running in background. The phone is on default - optimized power saving mode.
Also I tried testing camera/video capture for about 5 mins and it seems to get warm a little bit.
I just recently updated to latest version of firmware 1.17.40
Is the battery Ok or should I replace the product ?

I got new issue with mobile -- Suddenly call dis... moreObviously if your cellular network has a low signal, the call may drop. That goes for all phones.
The 1.15 firmware had issues with dropping calls when the signal dropped below 20% but from what I am aware, the 1.16 and 1.17 firmwares resolved that.
Of course - when you have 0 signal, call can't continue.
Therefore upgrade of the firmware may help, as may changing the operator with one that has better signal in your area.
I don't think you've lost 13k on this. Heard of classified ads? List it.

The USB cable does not fit into the charger? The USB cable on the other side does not fit into the phone?
I've seen this on one of my ZenFones, and it wasn't the phone fault but the cable fault, where it was very tight and hard to plug into the phone. So I changed the cable with the one that came with another mobile.
I don't know what the return policy from your store is, but in many cases a new cable might cost less than return shipping, which most shops require buyer to pay.
If you have any USB 2.0 to micro USB cable for a 2.5" external hard disk for example lying around, try with that. If the cable does not fit into the charger, check to see if the contact inside is bent… or use any other USB charger, or USB port of your computer.
The charger is 1.55 A, if I remember correctly, although I've always used Samsung's 2.5A charger for my phone, so try not to use 0.5A chargers as they would be very slow.

If this is not during charging, and the heat is coming from just below camera, that's the Atom CPU that's heating up. It will get warm when doing anything CPU intensive.
Android JellyBean OS does not have any optimisations for the Atom CPU, hence the power management and throttling is done quite badly. This should vastly improve once KitKat update is released.
You can try to use power saver apps or battery saver option in the Power settings of the phone, which clock the CPU down a bit, lowering the heat emitted.

At this price this is the best phn available in market. Every phone has some con but we have to see what we get in this price.

while the zenfone 5 experience is good, i am unable to connect my wi-fi. have even tried out all workaround suggested by asus support webpage. my micromax is already connected with the same WEP security settings but Zenfone is unable to connect -says Authentication problem, any ideas?

Hey evryone...
I bought this phn 3days bck
Everything was more than fine build quality camera display and ui
Only problem was its battery it was draining by 1% in every 4-5 percent which means 10-12 % per hour without doing anything
Bt yesterday i downloaded greenify which is of 2mb approx and swichted on the power saving app at ultra mode
Now the draining has decreased to 1% per hour...
Try this and share your experience..
