Got one of these. Hardware is ok but the ASUS android version is awful. Security updates lag behind by months. The top bar is designed for left handed people with no way of changing it. The phone can only display 2 notification icons at a time. And the volume output of the audio jack is way below my previous phone (oneplus one). Going to return the phone and get a nokia instead.

My biggest mistake to bought this device trusted Asus first time and got such a crappy Zenfone 5z their so called flagship set that i am facing network not coming on SIM every 2nd week and need to go to service center and they cant fixed is permanently.
Really waste of money.................... not happy with Asus customer care as they cant really bother about customer satisfation.

just got the phone about 3 days ago.
nice phone, but not compatible with google AR Core :(
if they just made this phone with stock android just like max pro M1, only tweak for the camera app only, would be perfect for me.

This problem only occurs the first game

My 5z cant play mobile legend..pls help me..it can get into the game..but after matchmaking n choose hero..the loading into tend to stuck at certain percentage then never gonna finish loading..idk wat is wrong..other than that or any other game is great like pubg or asphalt 9..everything work smoothly..help me pls..

I am having problems with my earphones since last few days. My device is only a month old and now whenever I plug-in the earphones the volumes are increasing and decreasing like crazy and the Google assistant is getting launched occasionally. I tried using different earphones too but no help.
I just deposited my phone at one of the authorized service centers and they're saying it will take 5-7 days to get this fixed. Now I am totally regretting not buying OnePlus6.

-these are just to get an idea of modern cellphones and batt, from the 4º qtr of 2015 to 4º qtr of this year:
-There are exceptions of course-
Gamer intense use: 2 hrs. (Overheating)
Intense use: 3 or 4 hrs batt.
Moderate use: 6 to 8 hrs.
Light/Casual use: 24 hrs.
Just checking from time to time: from 24 to 48 hrs.

Repeting, but not flooding intention:
Hullo... What you are experience is normal... it will overheat a little bit with fast charge (said up to 40 to 42º C in torrid climate)...
Normally, android based-phones-batteries takes up to 2 or 3 days to calibrate correctly... if not... you can reset caches. Usually it works.
I would not expect any more than 4 to 5 hr power-on-screen... with normal brightness... with low brightness add half an hour more. Left alone games... demanding ones, will deplete your 3.300mAh snapdragon device in two and a half hour if NOT sooner...
If you are a gamer, remember... more temperature, fastest discharge... as i always said, 45ºC or above will made your battery go down from 100% to 70% in a few minutes... is normal for lithym batts.
I HIGHLY recommend not to use the phone while fast charging... even i would made a deterrent statement:
NEVER fast charging your phone while gaming or using 3g/4g/5g based app... of course depends the network quality of your country. -antents tends to heat up a little bit-. Double truth for Asus phones.
With wi-fi the temperature will stand up a little better.

Very well said, and i wish my countrys´ market were as open as yours, but regretly it is not...
i personally consider Asus, an excelent brand to go if i want a flagship killer with superb performance. And i will recommend it, with its shortcomings, from Zenfone 2 Zoom and on, without any doubt.
