Also, for data, need to switch to sim card 2 instead of sim card 1. I dunno why it is like that, but it is what it is... Have a try. Peace.

    I blame the stupidity of this VoLTE technology that need to be additionally implemented and not enabled by default. This is same for many older smartphone that doesn't support VoLTE by default.

      Anyone come across a method to activate VoLTE ? I have been searching but haven't founded anything solid. I need a Tried & Tested method. Looks like 5z is screwed for those countries that needs VoLTE.

        vakulv2techy, 22 Oct 2021When did it got Android 11?Ok, my bad word, no Android 11, it stop at Android 10, last security patch is on January 5, 2021 and the patch released date is on March 26, 2021.
        Sorry, apologized for my mistake.
        The only concern I have now is no VoLTE support for my current country Telco, the support is only made for the new Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip.

              Well, after 3 years, this smartphone still works and feel solid.
              To review this kind of smartphone, I have to go back to the time around 8 years back where Xiaomi, Oneplus, and maybe bunch of Chinese brand that started the budget flagship smartphone trend, where the price is midrange or entry level, but the specs are flagship on paper.
              Well, this ASUS Zenfone 5z at my country is one of those budget flagship smartphone at the time, and is expected to cut corners at some areas, given the cheap price of the smartphone that is almost 2 times to 3 times cheaper than a proper flagships smartphone with almost similar specs on paper.
              Yes, compared to those true flagship, it does cut corners here and there. But for the price bracket, I would say it is one of the competing budget flagship smartphone at that price bracket that is worth to buy.
              Real daily usage wise, I got almost zero issue with the smartphone. This is one of the snappiest smartphone I had used.
              Sadly, the smartphone won't get any official Android update anymore. The latest update is stopped at Android 11.
              Time to move on?

                Came from a 5 year old Google Nexus 6p
                got this a phone a month back for $160(swapped in with a new 2200mah battery)
                Damn, I must say SD845 kills almost everything except it's successors and the new SD780.
                Brought in the GCam, with tweaks over 2 weeks, this phone now takes photos as good as Pixel 3 and def better than P2, night sight owns the game with the 'ULTRAWIDE'.
                Only the UI seems a lil sloppy l but not something you would mind.
                And this 2200mah gets me 5 hrs SOT, almost 13-14 hours of mixed usage, excellent for me.
                Rest, Dual speakers, Ultra wide Cam with GCam, minimal design, 3.5mm jack make a dope package

                  Hi there to all Asus Zenfone 5z users.

                  I would like to update on my usage of the cellphone. after much updates to latest firmware, the phone not behaving properly, i cannot access galery after browsing the 3 photo from stock camera app, cannot even delete photo when open the gallery from stock camera app. Certain apps install, cannot install the additional metadata (Asphalt 9, Worms 4, Motorsport Manager 2), thus the app won't work. The phone has dedicated Android Auto App (unable to access), no need to sync with car head unit that is compatible with Android Auto.

                  My solution: I downgraded the OS 10 (Q) back to OS 9 (P). the downgrade app link:
                  https://www.asus.com/supportonly/ZenFone%205z%20(ZS620KL)/HelpDesk_BIOS/
                  look for: Version Android 10 downgrade to P (WW / JP; depending on your region)
                  follow the instructions given, once downgrade, re-register your account back on the phone, install all the backup applications. Took me 1 hour to reinstall the app using home Wifi. Once done, upgrade to the latest software; dated: 2021/03/26, Version WW-100.10.107.123.
                  Once done, your phone runs anew like the 1st time you bought it. i am loving back my 2018 Zenfone 5z... Also has Android Auto App that is niiiiiiiice to use.....
                  Please ensure you keep the downgrade driver for future use & the latest OS update...

                  Hope those that has software issues will find this solution helpful. Hardware problem, please go to Asus Service Center. Peace...

                    Best phone that I have ever had in my life. Couple reasons. 1. Phone Jack 2. Expandable Storage 3. Audio Wizard 4. PC file transfer 5. Hidden Files. 6. Fast Charging 7. Selfie Manager. 8. Camera (as long as it not taken at night) 9. Speakers 10. Manage home capabilities.
                    PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER PHONE LIKE THIS!!!!!

                        AmitG, 26 Mar 20215z gets january 2021 security patch. Nice to see this! Yes, it update the ROM version to WW.100.10.107.123, dated on 2021, January 31.
                        It only update on Android security patch.

                              After using it for 2.5 years phone started showing touch issues which can be resolved after restart. But the main camera started showing focus issues and images are blurred,always needs to change to wide angle for better images. The good is the phone is performing super fast. Still as good as it when was bought.Asus provided 2 years software update. It was ugraded from android 8,9 and now it is 10.

                                Well, after 2 and half years, this phone finally is in the legacy product category.
                                ASUS no more updates the security patch.
                                Time to let go then?

                                    I had this phone more than 2 years, it still smooth and fast. However current I facing some problem.
                                    -Cannot turn on mobile date for sim 2
                                    -Charging not respond
                                    -The phone often reset on its own

The smartphone still fee... moreI also wish ASUS sells Zenfone 7 Pro in my country as well. the specs are good. Still, I am holding onto my zenfone 5z. Been using ASUS smartphone for more than 5 years; Fonepad Note 6 FHD, Padfone S Plus & Zenfone 5z. I not keen on gaming phones, Zenfone 5z can play graphic intense games too. No force shutdown, No Lag, No Problem. :)

                                      Only problem is for a 2018 smartphone, its difficult to find protective casing now. :(

                                        Mine still ok, also more than 2 years since launching.
                                        My only complain is on the WiFi signal strength, is weaker than some of the phone, but it is on par with iPhone 12 Pro Max WiFi signal reception, prove that my room WiFi signal is bad. Install a WiFi extender solve the issue.
