Best phone that I have ever had in my life. Couple reasons. 1. Phone Jack 2. Expandable Storage 3. Audio Wizard 4. PC file transfer 5. Hidden Files. 6. Fast Charging 7. Selfie Manager. 8. Camera (as long as it not taken at night) 9. Speakers 10. Manage home capabilities.
PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER PHONE LIKE THIS!!!!!

Nice to see this! Yes, it update the ROM version to WW.100.10.107.123, dated on 2021, January 31.
It only update on Android security patch.

After using it for 2.5 years phone started showing touch issues which can be resolved after restart. But the main camera started showing focus issues and images are blurred,always needs to change to wide angle for better images. The good is the phone is performing super fast. Still as good as it when was bought.Asus provided 2 years software update. It was ugraded from android 8,9 and now it is 10.

Well, after 2 and half years, this phone finally is in the legacy product category.
ASUS no more updates the security patch.
Time to let go then?

I had this phone more than 2 years, it still smooth and fast. However current I facing some problem.
-Cannot turn on mobile date for sim 2
-Charging not respond
-The phone often reset on its own
Any solution?

Still, I am holding onto my zenfone 5z. Been using ASUS smartphone for more than 5 years; Fonepad Note 6 FHD, Padfone S Plus & Zenfone 5z. I not keen on gaming phones, Zenfone 5z can play graphic intense games too. No force shutdown, No Lag, No Problem. :)
Only problem is for a 2018 smartphone, its difficult to find protective casing now. :(

Mine still ok, also more than 2 years since launching.
My only complain is on the WiFi signal strength, is weaker than some of the phone, but it is on par with iPhone 12 Pro Max WiFi signal reception, prove that my room WiFi signal is bad. Install a WiFi extender solve the issue.

Wouldn't recommend, didn't age well. After 2 years I often get random restarts, phone sometimes refuses to boot up for half a day. Keeps happening all the same even after I did a factory reset and even full re-flash that cost me all my data. I also got weird charging behaviour a lot: continuously start/stop charging for hours before settling down. The specs looked good at the time for the price, but lack of longevity is an issue.

More than 2 years in use with muly ZenFone 5z, still no issue with it. I'm pleasantly surprised!
No restarts required, small gliches and bugs in the SO updates were solved. Battery still holds about 5 and a half hours SOT.
Camera is better with Gcam developer app for Zenfone.
Would love to buy the ZenFone 7 but its still too expensive for now.
For now, I am and hope to remain faithful to Asus smartphones. Good jobs guys!

Well, the only thing is, it's successor, Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 7 doesn't sell in my country. My country only get the ROG Phone 2 and ROG Phone 3.
2 years have past and no more Android version updates.

Even though ASUS Zenfone 5z won't get Android OS 11. At least, they maintain security updates.

I am still using this for for 2 years already. Still as good as the day I bought it. No hardware issues. Software is depending on the apps downloaded. Google OS is no exceptions, No app developer produces app without bugs.
Still satisfied with this model.

i had this phone for 2 years and had many sudden issues although using it very gently. it stopped reading SIM card within 6 months of the purchase. it again stopped reading SIM card after the warranty period and it got resolved after getting OTA software update installed. then the power charging and mic stopped working. these are major issues, there were lot of small issues like app crash, game genie crashes the game, etc. worst phone ever. this phone made me switch to IOS.
