Instead, it charge much faster than other similar QC3.0 18W.
Works with all QC3.0 charger adapter, and works with any type C cable, even the type C cable is less than 1 dollar, it just charge as fast as the original cable.
This phone only has problem on the USB-PD charging, it doesn't compatible to most of the charger, but I charge with an expensive USB-PD without issue, but USD-PD doesn't charge faster than QC3.0.
Then, on QC2.0, this phone actually constantly charge at around 9W/1A, but doesn't show it is on quick charging. It just show normal charging.
My satisfaction on this phone is 99%.

I also owned a Padfone S Plus before, but sold to other people.
Sadly, ASUS seems has not selling Zenfone series to many of the country, including my country, doesn't get the Zenfone 6, 7, and 7 Pro.
Instead, they are focusing on marketing the ROG Phone series, the new ROG Phone 3 is launched not long ago.
The main reason why they doesn't sell the Zenfone series anymore is due to the stiff competition from China brand, such as OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, Realme, Oneplus, and Huawei.
With the fall of HTC brand, ASUS brand fought the competition alone. The second reason of course is their own Zenfone 2 series, that has cause the brand being labeled as worse than China brand.
I really hope that ASUS make a real come back with the Zenfone series.

But doesn't mean that Asus will forego security updates (dunno when Asus will stop the update entirely). As a user of 3 Asus models: Asus Fonepad Note 6 FHD, PadFone S Plus & Zenfone 5z, I'm satisfied.

Zero lag on my device..
Batter drain issue . 4hrs screen on time.
Using for last 2 years ... So it's acceptable...

I still remember what asus did at old zenfone..they gave it bloatwares.. Tell me about this Zenfone 5Z ui.. Are they still doing stupid job by giving bloatwares to users? Is Are you still poor, still greedy, asus?! I doubt you, asus..you are arrogant.

I have no idea why, but a couple of days ago my 5Z just DIED out of nowhere. I didn't drop it or move it, but now it keeps Boot-looping. WHen it DOES turn on (occasionally), it has huge connection issues with the sim, mobile data and wifi. Does anyone else have it? I was super happy with the phone until last friday :(

Try some heavy games such as Call Of Duty after some long period, you will understand what overheat means.
Oh yes, Samsung Note 9 has better cooling system, that is also an unfair comparison.
Go try some Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and see.
All in all, don't compare Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and this ASUS Zenfone 5z, both has far different build despite having the same SD845. As far as per the statement I say, SD845 smartphone are already far cooler than before. It is not because of the Android OS, it is really because of the far better SoC SD845 that help keep temperature down, and also more power saving than before. I have use before smartphone with SD650, SD821, SD800, SD801, SD600, SD660, SD615, MTK6795 Helio X10, Intel Atom 3560, Exynos 5420, Exynos 5410, I am far more understand what overheating is all about.

And stop making excuses like sdm 845 is old and unoptimised as im using samsung note 9 with sdm 845 and dont have any heating issues whatsoever.

I would say the turn off or auto shutdown is due to heavy gaming, or heavy gaming while fast charging. There are many new games out there that doesn't optimized properly with SD845 since this is already an old processor from 2 years ago.

The battery has improved significantly since this latest update.
Haven't had any issues just yet.
Haven't played graphic intense game yet after the latest update, to acknowledge any forced shutdown if slight increased in processor temperature during gaming.
