I was so into buying one of these, until I found out about the ramdump or motherboard failure issue. As there is no indications, whether only certain production batches or so are concerned, I guess i'll get a refurbished S10e instead. It will probably last longer.

Great device. Super underated, high specced, and good price. Highly recommend to anyone who's tired of flagship phones being to big too hold and use in one hand. 👍

This WOULD be the perfect phone for me - reasonable size, good software, 120Hz display, headphone jack - but they just had to exclude the microSD slot. That's a dealbreaker for me.

Got this phone for 460 euros on a Black Friday in Bulgaria
It has a lot of pros, and a lot of cons. I am coming from Samsung Note 8, and I can clearly see the performance difference. The Note 8 was a hot phone too, but it wasn't so obvious.
For the money, I think that's the best phone I can get. The camera isn't the best one, but it's quite good (considering it's 15.7 REAL megapixels, not the "108" a.k.a 12 megapixels on the S21 Ultra which I was considering buying) and it's brimmed with features which as a semi-pro photographer, I highly appreciate. The battery is 4000 mAh, and compared to S21 Ultra's 5Ah and 13 Pro Max's 4Ah, I think that they are on par, considering the display size and it's energy consumption. The chipset is very beefy and the aluminum chassy gets hot (free hand heaters for the winter, still don't know what is the situation in the summer). The display is very gorgeous! It needs some time to get adjusted to, but it's worth the downsizing, considering the small format (5.9"). What I disliked, is the front camera.. It's not getting in the way too much, but in some apps (Messenger/Facebook/Tiktok/some games) I noticed that the top of the screen where the camera is, is just blacked out (might be changed from settings, as I heard other people are complaining that there is a white oreol on the camera)..
The android migration tool didn't prove useful for me but thank god Asus has their own tool, which didn't actually migrate my music and images from the old phone, but only the apps.. I am talking about the migration tool, as the phone has USB Type-C 2.0, which by specification is limited to 0.5gbps, whereas the 21ultra is 3.2.
I really miss the flashlight of Note 8, as you could calibrate how bright it is, and here I still haven't found a way, and it's not enabled OOTB. Another thing which is a bummer for me, is that I didn't find a way to change the settings order in the settings nav bar, but still, with a custom launcher, most of those things can be configured..
In conclusion, if you need a good phone, and have some money, wait for Black Friday, and buy this one. Very suitable for kids, as it's battery drains for like 2h in games, if you run on 120Hz, and your kid would be scared to play too many games :D On the other note, if you want to get into photography, the camera has some really good features that you can play with. Oooh, and don't forget the 3.5mm jack, kudos to Asus for that one!

The phone is excellent but has a design fault. The motherboard will fail within 6 months. To my knowledge, Asus has not acknowledged the issue. There should be a product recall. I am unsure as whether the fix involves a new version of the old motherboard or is just a replacement (which will fail again). NB: Asus offer only a local warranty if the phone was bought from an "authorised" retailer.

Riku Rassi, 16 Nov 2021I've had this phone about a month. Only thing I don�... moreTry poweramp, I'm using it from 4 years. I've also tried Stellio, JetAudio Plus and Neutron. Neutron and Poweramp are best and quite similar but Neutron's UI is too old and complicated.
