MidnightStark, 13 May 2021but its worst, its only expensive because the flip systemHere is what I think. They removed some features, so the phone could not be too expensive. Imagine the Zenphone 8 Flip with the following specs: 12/16 GB of RAM, 256 GB/512 GB of internal storage, 120 HZ refresh rate, Quad Dac audio, some kind of gimbal stabilization, the price would be well above 1000 Euros!
So they come up with this idea, to make 2 phones(one, finally to have an IP certification), NO flip mechanism, but add more RAM but skip a memory card slot. The other one has a flip mechanism which is not so cheap to make, but they had to not add some features I mentioned above. By the way a telephoto on the compact model would have been a good idea though, my opinion.

Don't make me laugh, I already see some people selling their S21 as a second-hand item on online classifieds for 20% to 30% off the retail price. If you really care about resale value, buy an iPhone, not an Android.

Hanif Fikri, 13 May 2021Smaller display but still lost in battery compared to s21..Because the 120Hz screen in this ASUS is not an adaptive type, unlike the Samsung. Give the same type of adaptive refresh rate screen on this ASUS and the battery endurance rating can be on par or better.

A step in the right direction but why there's no SD card slot? I guess Xperia 5 III wins then, even if it is less compact. How are you supposed to store library of photos, music, movies, game .iso's (for emulation) on measly 256gb's? It's not even that prohibitively expensive to include the slot either

Instead of producing two ASUS product, the R&D team of ASUS could have made Asus Zenfone 8 the most complete flagship phone. All they had to take aspects from other flagship phones like Sony Xperia 1 III's 4K HDR 120Hz display, Huawei Nova 8 Pro's 16MP + 32MP front camera, Samsung S21 Ultra's Main cameras.

I guess i'll skip the 8. Z7 is one of the choices i want to buy but its not available anymore in Lazada ( it has the lowest price at that time only $600 discounted price from $800 pricepoint . I have mixed feelings with Z8 since it doesnt have SD slot which i consider the most since my Z2 broke last year.
