it's crap and full of bugs and lag

Asus phones use to have the 'value' ring going for them nailing that niche compromise and offering great performance and features, but that no longer the case. And they messed up with nearly all iteration of Zenphone. Nearly all has hardware defects, starting withe Zenfone 3 family with the infamous light bar on the screen... Then, there's the support. They would stop the development cycle once the time is up (pretty prompt and accurate about it as well), whether the last release has serious bugs or not - it would just stop. Service centre and part... Oh boy, better hope you never have an accident with your phone.
And here comes to the worst part - Asus can brag about one international version of their phone with LTE/5G band support all their want. The fact is, they have highly limited carrier support for VoLTE and Wifi calling. It renders even this portion of hardware pretty useless.. At least OnePlus could force the feature on none support carrier. Honestly, I can no longer justify buying one with it given cost. ROG still have a proposition for gamers. I don't see where Zenfone has any more at that given cost.

why would anyone bother with another brand? Oh yeah because they're probably Apple zealots or blindly buying the same trash year after year because they cant think.
Asus have done an amzing job with the Zenfone 8, so glad I bought one.

Download the A12 image from ASUS's support site, and place the file in the root folder of your phone internal memory. The phone will detect it as system update file.

It has headphone... more.. but midrange phones are same gabariti as flagships with cuts in every sections, also not every 3.5mm output are meen great quality(witch is "individual" taste).. zenphone 8 have beast one.. also the last phone (according to my memory) with awesome audio chips + "normal" or "compact" sized.. Samsung dropped out 3.5mm, LG is dead, Sony overpriced and almost done with smartphones job.. choice's are horrible these days for music lovers

Reduce other components sizes - pick a smaller camera, reduce the battery charging rate, give it a slightly smaller battery, heck make the phone 1mm wider and taller. Reducing features is not omitting them.

That is a non-sense excuse by manufacturer to exclude the hardware. Of course, these trend, trace back to it’s root problem, is Apple, who is the first one to exclude these. There are never a problem to include these, only shameful Apple that say these hardware taken up their smartphone space. I know, like it or not, it has become a trend, a bad one. These trend push the usage of wireless earphone, and also cloud service. But, this problem is not solely happen on ASUS.

You still have to pay respect to Asus for still fitting THIS many features in such a small package. for showing other companies that they can put a headphone jack in their phones, as Asus did it also with a power hungry chipset and lots of cooling.
