However, other part of the world just don't appreciate what it can offer, even at my country, people wonder if ASUS smartphone is still great to use. Well, there are many user complain regarding their ROG series that has many quality issue.
I still have my Zenfone 5z with me after 4 years and still no problem, probably need to find service center to change it's aging battery for better battery life.

the camera system on this smartphone is just superior strong selfie camera i don't even think any smartphone in the would can beat this smartphone
i don't think asus cut any cut any corners this smartphone is a all rounder
this really just a full flagship for less and a good flagship at that
we can try nit pick weakness but i think this really is one the top 10 best smartphone money can buy today

For this kind of so called budget flagship, there is always cut corners here and there, that's why some of the specs are comparable to the more expensive flagship, but some of the specs are not. So does the lowered pricing.

This is a flagship grade smartphone not a flagship killer most flagships are not this good
This might be the best camera smartphone out there
Performance is good
8gb ram is ok but more ram be good for better muti tasking
oled screen is good 90hz is ok
This smartphone price is flagship range (this smartphone i see as in same class tier 1 as the other flagships)
But i do agree asu rog 5s pro is a little better but yeah we just looking at high price flagship
vs low price flagship both still crush the mid range

For it's pricing, it is definitely a flagship killer at my country, so I do expected the cut corners here and there. This year flagship is the smaller Zenfone 8, which has OIS, 120hz, IP68 for a flagship killer pricing too, but is a smaller smartphone.
If you are after a bigger screen smartphone, then you might look else where. Yes, I do agree the Flip should have a pro-version that comes with OIS, but it will become the direct competitor for the smaller Zenfone 8, then the pricing for the Flip Pro would be very high, that cut into the Rog 5S series.
All in all, for Zenfone 8 Flip current pricing at my country for 256GB model, it is half price of comparable Samsung and Oneplus model, which is very tempting, but with cut corners. My country don't have neither the Zenfone 7 Pro or Zenfone 7 model.

My baby dropped my zenfone flip 8 like 2 weeks ago .. but the lcd was not broken and my temper glass too and i used rhinoshield case but inside of my lcd is shutdown (off) and cant appear anything :(. Sadly i have to buy spare part in china by marketplace bcs in my country zenfone 8 flip is not official to sell

Seriously What is wrong with Asus. Such a great idea by no OIS. Put a flagship quality sensor and smart camera app like google.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2021As amazing as the camera is in the stock camera app, it suc... moreactually, this is Android phones' general limitation when it comes to video call quality / selfie quality when using 3rd party apps. the reason for this is that due to many different Android phones, app developers usually just take the shortcut to just utilize the screen capture mode while the camera interface is showing. so in essence, 3rd party apps do not really use the actual camera resolution of the phone but instead relies on the screen resolution since the app is just taking a screenshot or just "streaming" what is shown on the camera ui screen which just relies from the phone's screen resolution.
only Samsung flagship Android phones are an exception because they partnered with some 3rd party apps to make the actual quality of their cameras true to their performance (using the actual available camera resolution and not just using "screenshot method"). from what i remember, they did this with Instagram app.

In my opinion, modern smartphone all drain battery, and this one particular if on heavy use, SD888 does drain more battery.
Others, I can't comment much, because it is also depend on the apps you are using. Particular if your usage is just Whatapps and social media, should be enough for 1 day usage.
Unless you played heavy games, then this is not a consistent benchmark, as the heavy games released now is not the same as the heavy games from last time, it is a few time much more heavier and much more battery draining.

Smartphone are not the product you can relate with durability. In fact it is one of the less durable.
No matter how strong or tough built a smartphone, even with IP rating one, please take good care of your smartphone. It doesn't means that there is no durability, but it can still break, depend on how you break it. Regarding the mechanical flip camera also same, not for careless user.

Personal, I feel that it is a lost too, but that is the trend, they are forcing you to go wireless, both on sound and storage.
Apple started the stupid trend and now almost every other manufacturer follow.

As amazing as the camera is in the stock camera app, it sucks in video calls. Big time! It records in a very low resolution and the audio is quiet as well. Tested it in WhatsApp, Skype, Discord and Telegram. Same result each time. I deduce that this must be a limitation in the camera's driver on Android, so there is no way to fix it from inside the apps or some setting you could change.
If you like taking pictures, videos and selfies this is the phone for you. If you want to make video calls with a great camera look elsewhere.

Super happy with my Zenfone 6 with the flip camera, SD card slot *and* a 3.5mm audio jack.
Super disappointed to see I can't get an SD card *and* a 3.5mm audio jack with either the flip or the non-flip version of this phone. I would've preferred to upgrade to the Zenfone 8 Flip, but the lack of either of the above hardware features is a deal breaker.
