Very nice design in my opinion! I agree with other opinions. It is too expensive. A android company should make a mid-range compact. Apple have managed to fit flagship hardware into a compact form! Not everyone does everything on their phone!!

I love the phone, I will be buying it.
A bit against the grain with this opinion but I like the price given what's being offered. I really hope the camera's good.

Asus really needs to make this phone cheaper for it to be successful. The apparent target audience (people who like phones like this) of this phone is comprised of people willing to spend £500 or less, people who like practicality and not gimmickry and style.
But Asus has priced it at around £750 and people who spend that much on a phone prefer style and gimmickry over practicality. They'll rather go for Google, iphone, Samsung, Xiaomi etc who offer stylish, impractical devices instead of something practical such as Zenfone 9. Look at what happens to the practical Sony Xperia 5 series, it can't compete in that price range. Audience at this price would take gimmicky wireless charging, large screen, glass back etc over practical features such as headphone jack, compactness, microSD card etc.
Only if Asus prices it around £500 it could outsell everything else. Asus needs to solidify it's base among the correct audience.

Hey Asus, reduce this phone's price and it will outsell everything else. For now it's too expensive. Nearly perfect phone, but price is a bit too much.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2022does anyone know if it supports 4k 60fps hdr10+ video recor... moreso i managed to find the answer by myself after all thanks to some recently uploaded videos on YouTube that showed exactly what i was looking for(and since i am quadrilingual language is not an issue).
The answer is yes it supports recording videos with both options the HDR10+ which is only watchable by compatible devices and the normal computational HDR which is like processing continuously HDR photos and is playable on all devices.
I also managed to find an explanation why some video samples were not looking good from some reviewers. It appears that when the computational HDR is on then the quality and colors become very bad and everything looks over processed and over saturated with too much grain which is not big news as it happens with many phones.
On the other hand if only HDR10+ is enabled then videos look extremely good but in order to see that you need a special screen to support it plus if you want to watch it on YouTube the video has to uploaded as an HDR10+ and not as normal one.
I guess a middle solution would be to deactivate both in case you want to shoot a short video with best quality but also ready to be shared everywhere.

I personally despise wireless charging, since it's a total waste of energy. In my opinion the phone could by *slightly* smaller. I'm currently running an Xperia XZ1 compact, and this is the only (non apple) phone of this size that can match the 108h endurance rating of the Xperia :)
