Anonymous, 18 Jul 2022If this had an 870 or even a 778g i would insta-buy.+1 for 870 or similar. Asus should really make the next step and commit on not choosing the most recent and/or most powerful processor, but the BEST for the phone. They can put the fastest processor in their ROG phones - but the zenfone has a completely different focus and audience. Fast enough to power everything easily and energy efficient enough to keep the phone going for 2 days+ on light to medium use - that's more "zen" ;)

I hope it has wireless charging this time around... there are plenty of phones out there at this size that have it. No excuse!

They should include a microSD slot or bring down the price of 256gb version and get rid of 128gb one

hopefully it get better haptic motor than zenfone 8 (ie: x axis linear motor) and usb 3.1 .

Pricing will be the key here. Zenfone 8 was priced 599GBP/699EUR and if Zenfone 9 is priced the same, then it will be a compelling option for those looking for a compact flagship.

However, if they increase the price by 100 GBP/EUR (like the increase in ROG Phone 6 vs ROG Phone 5 since the upgrades are similar), then it would be a tough sell.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2022Who needs jack in 2022? Spend that space on bigger batteryBigger battery isn't always better as long as they have proper optimization. Plus, a headphone jack is always a must for Audiophiles.

another reason not to is that it's an open line directly into the device. manufacturers are forcing users to compromise their phone's security... to what end, I couldn't imagine

Man I like this design. Funky, but cool looking. Hope the price is right on this one. Over 700$, it's a no for me, at least until it drops to 700$ after a few months

Spend that space on bigger batteryspending .5 for the battery isnt any different. just get a powerbank if 4300mah isnt enough for your intense gaming usage. 3.5mm is important for me because i hate spending more on crappy bluetooth earbuds. better spending on wired headsets. and no worries about delay in wired mode.

Let say you break the screen and you want to replace it, the cost will be 300$-500$ (at least in my country)

It's not as simple as "take out headphone jack to make battery bigger", there's a lot more that goes into it.

That aside, your statement should read that the headphone jack isn't really that important TO YOU. It's extremely important to a lot of people however, as evidenced by many other people in the comments here. It's okay to admit that this phone isn't for you.
