That's .5" of space can hinder the battery's entire adjacent, transverse area of the phone. Besides, you can use an adapter or USB-C connections. So yeah, the headphone jack isn't really all that necessary. Thanks.

The one suggested omitting headphone jack for larger battery too ignorant to realize that using headphone jack instead of bluetooth will save battery.

volverine, 12 Jul 2022still don't understand why nobody can make compact pho... moreYeah I also prefer compact phones and am still on my smaller, dying Moto X4
I'm excited for the Zenfone 9 because of its size but do wish there were more budget options. The best upcoming in that category would likely be the Pixel 6a at 6.1", but still is $450ish. Otherwise for possibly $2-300ish the Motorola Moto 30 Lite (Neo) is a budget 6.28" not formally announced yet.
My location doesn't offer the 6" Sony Xperia 10 and that's not quite budget either. Hopefully excitement for these smaller devices encourage development on a wider range of 5-6" modern phones.

still don't understand why nobody can make compact phone like this with 6GB RAM and with some other low budger hardware specs? for about 300$
i paid for mine Redmi 4X abiut 200$ and just few phones in that time had 4GB RAM and battery over 4000mAh. is that so big problem? now i read comments here and all are enthusiastic about phone, becouse it is compact, so it means that there is space in market for that kind of phones. come ooooooon do something budget friendly and compact.

Really wish the back was plastic. Plastic already gets warm enough, and the weight would be heavenly.
Nothing else to complain about besides maybe wishing for a good orange color, or yellow. Or something like the green from moto edge 20 or "almond" from op 7 pro.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2022Who needs jack in 2022? Spend that space on bigger batteryThe amount of extra battery size you'd get from omitting the headphone jack is so minimal you'd barely notice it. A headphone jack component is, generally, half an inch long and not even a quarter of an inch in width and height. That's around 0.03 cubic inches of volume. For reference, the ZenFone 8 battery had a volume of 1.33 cubic inches.
Obviously we don't know the ZenFone 9's battery dimensions yet, but we can get a rough idea of the battery increase that a ZenFone 9 without a headphone jack could have by looking at the ZenFone 8. If you removed the headphone jack and redesigned the phone perfectly optimally to give that 0.03 cubic inches to only the battery (which would likely require a total redesign of the motherboard, given the jack's location), you'd get just a 2% increase in battery size. That doesn't even take into account that an increase in volume doesn't even strictly equate to an equal increase in capacity.
So yeah, I'd much rather have the headphone jack, thanks.

mistab, 09 Jul 2022the battery seems small, if this has VRR display it might b... moreThe battery is 4300 mah because the phone has a much smaller body it needs to support. You also don't expect from your SmartWatch to have 5000mah, and yet they still last you though the day.
Other phones in this size class have 3700-4000mah
Also the Zenphone 8 did cost a lot more than 500€
Also the Snap 8gen1+ alone would cost around 200-250€ for Asus to get one.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2022Who needs jack in 2022? Spend that space on bigger batteryYes, I still want an headphone jack for their non existent latency and better frequency response below 25hz.
I have Bluetooth headphones that sound Similar to Apples airpods max and yet I still use the Audio jack around 1/5th of the time when I need it, especially in games.

Good looking compact android phone..
Will be a hit if they introduced this phone in the Indian market with a delay as in case of Azuz zenfone 8.
