However... moreTotally wrong. I've had the Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) for 6 months and with stable regular updates.
I'm a happy owner of the new Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2), but will wait a bit for the Pie update.

However, if you are the person who wish to have regular updates, Please think twice.
Asus's updates is the worst among android phones.
After checking google, there are brands that provide consistent updates for at least two years. Get those phones instead.

Too bad it doesn't have usb type C, and no 128GB ver, everything else is fine. I hope they will release a m3 pro with such things, along with SD 730 or at least 675, 665

Jokes aside, I updated to Pie only find my screen blinks every two seconds. There's no Digital Wellbeing. And then there's UI bug which pops a circle around the pill (the navigational button at the bottom). And that's just the stuff I bothered to figure out!
Yes, I couldn't believe it at first either. Asus couldn't have possibly been this incompetent, but they are. What's worse? This phone is almost useless until we get a patch to fix their bugs, and knowing Asus it's probably not coming any time soon. If any at all.
Sad though, the hardware and design were pretty good.

Others that yeiling here are just called complaining directly without even checking first as to what has changed after the update, maybe other defaults have changed yet you can fix it by exploring the device, settings etc. I really believe pie is stable, others are just too busy complaining without proper observations/checking to their device.

screen flickering started after Android Pie update. ASUS guys did not do anything till date they do not care about their customers. so, if you buy their phone and something happen to the phone, they do not care at all. even if they offer gold phone with cheap rate, do not buy it. this is my first and last update. DON'T BUY THEIR PRODUCT. THEY ARE CHEATERS.

GeekBench shows me model number of my device is asus Asus_X01BDA and showing 4 Core @ 1.84GHz and 4 Core @ 1.96 GHz. I don't know why the information is wrong about model number and Clock Speed. Do ZB631KL and X01BDA are 2 different devices?? Do Asus have conned me???

Pie was served undercooked... Lots of users in India reporting bugs and issues (Flickering screen). Update roll out has been halted. Stick with Oreo for now and wait for Asus to finish re-baking the pie!
Too bad... The phone is so good for its price, ruined by the update...

My phone(m2) heats up if I use mobile data with screen brightness on 50% and playing Mobile legends. Its normal or not?

The phone is very good, especially for this price. I prefer Asus to Samsung or other flagships, good quality and satisfaction. Especially battery in M2.
