Rony, 18 Feb 2019Battery is draining too fast... I just bought it 1 day ago.... moreNormally just "bought 1 day", battery life will be very bad because Android system still configuring your system in the background, there might be data usage, and also processor usage, thus it will drain battery.
Charge it few time later for a few day later to see if battery still drain only to comfirm if battery drain is still happen.

is the back camera good for taking landscapeshots? or sunsets and sunrises? most asus phones have bad cameras that's why im sceptical :( help me out pls

Here are the real comments, ASUS are known for slow updates for their phone, and will cease updates for their phone after 2 years. If this bother you, then you might have to consider others brand.
Of course, not much choices to choose also, Honor brand and Realme brand also well known for their slow update also. For Xiaomi, they actually update differently where for around 3 years, they update their MIUI rather than Android version for their Redmi series, and now they also practice the same thing where they will also cease support for older device, even the Android One MiA2 also only got promise for max 3 years of support only, update become slow after 2 years.
That's the thing for Android world, and this happen to flagship phone too.
Like it or hate it, at the end it doesn't really matter as manufacturer encourage user to change their phone yearly by releasing newer and better model each year.
Either you stop chasing for the replacement or upgrade, or you will end up chasing the trend no end.

1st quarter? 2nd quarter? 3rd quarter or 4th quarter?
You will realized that this is no end waiting.
How about I wait for next year for much cheaper and better specs phone compare to those released today?
Or wait until the price drop where new phone keep releasing every month?

By reading overall comments, seems average users are overexpecting a cheap smartphone again.
This phone are at the price bracket of Honor 8X, Realme 2 Pro, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi Mi8 Lite.
Compare to these smartphone first before saying this phone lack NFC, crappy Gorilla Glass 6, and say it doesn't has type C port.
Glass is still glass and there always people complain about the glass durability whenever new version of Gorilla glass being released. Yes, all are false advertisements, unless true sapphire glass is implemented, even though sapphire will also break if being dropped.

Watched a durability test of this phone and it's display scratched way to easy, but drops didn't bother it much.

SJ, 15 Feb 2019Problem Statement: I was dropped my Max Pro M2 mobile phone... moreHow come Gorilla Glass 6 easily break after 3 feet falls(almost 1 metre) ? I beliefs the display glass either an older version of GG or not a GG at all maybe Asus use another type glass like Asahi Dragontrail or something else. If this to be true then buy a strong tempered glass is a solutions. I put a tempered glass on mine and its become less responsive but its give extra protections if the phone falls and can save me INR6000 from GG 6 replacement.

Been using the phone for almost 2 months and here are my views/findings:
1) Stock phone (without any firmware updates) is good so far; battery live is good (I get more than 1 day of moderate-heavy use: gaming for 2-3 hours, music/movies for 2-3 hours, etc.). Compared to my S9+ it can last 40%-50% longer (almost all same apps are installed on S9+).
2) Camera/photo taking is so-so.... I don't use the gcam hack.
3) I use Greenify (non-root) to auto hibernate most apps and they don't seem to misbehave or auto run in background; unlike Samsung which some apps always constantly running in background and cannot be kept in hibernated mode, the same apps for some reasons doesn't misbehave in M2!
4) Charging: has some sort of fast "Charging Rapidly" mode but only works with certain adapters! You need to experiment with min. 2A adapters and check whether "Charging Rapidly" is shown on the lock screen after a min. or so. Asus really need to just implement QC2.0/3.0!
5) Screen: not as good as OLED in sid-by-side comparison. However I don't think this is a deal breaker for me as I have no problem watching videos, gaming on it...
6) 64GB internal storage is too small for me! This is my only gripe with M2... I got games, musics and videos.... Tried using SD/TF card to store my Spotify music but somehow the M2 will reboot occassionally, maybe due to the TF card either not detected or maybe lose connection momentarily. Spotify will then start to re-download all the songs onto my internal memory; filling all up and hanging the phone! Will try to see if changing to a new TF card will fix this issue.
Last but not least: Do not update firmware yet until Asus sort out all issues!
