The specs describe battery life as 4 hours of talk time & 120 hours standby. I am unable to get even 8 hours of standby with bluetooth, Wifi, GPRS disabled. Any help? Can anyone tell me how to lodge a complaint of their web site ... it does not register.

So far so good.. like the phone ,,, but battery life can be better , Has anyone turned off the infrared, does that make any big difference ??? ...

im using this unit for about a week now after dispatching my n6680...this pda fone is really cool!
cons:
-my mmc slipped out of the mmc slot while im watching videos, it happened twice already..why is that?
-the camera is not that good compared to nokia and se
-poor battery life?? well, it may last up to 2 days,just like nokia 60 series batteries.
-traces of icons remains on the menu once you deleted certain application

-i like the pre installed speech commander software(voice command)...much easier to open files and applications, dial a number or even read your sms by the unit itself...it's like a talkin robot!

I am planning to purchase a P50 but would like to know if I can upgrade the operating system to the new Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.
Or should I wait for the Sony Ericsson 990???

I have a problem Sending and Receving MMS trough my Benq p50 any advice on setting and what should i do. i can't download pictures and can't send out my meassage at all. help me plesae. if any one can email that be grate.

I would like to buy one p50. i am a gps user and i would like to know if it is any problem for synchronizing the p50 with a bluetooth gps receiver and if it is any problem of loading the gps software on the device.
did anyone used it for gps?
normaly, everything must be ok from this point of view.

Sounds to me like a lot of people are being rip[ped off by yet another product slapped together to pull $$ out of everyone's pockets in the mad rush for "convergence convenience". I'll stick with my UN-CONVERGED combo of a trusty Ipaq 4150 WiFi / Bluetooth enabled handheld and a reliable Sony Ericsson T637 cellphone, thank you. I use the T637 as a bluetooth modem to download email to the Ipaq etc and ... guess what ! - they always work !! I know - you'll all say I am stuck in the distant past (e.g. 2005) but why spend all sorts of bucks for things that don't work?

ya.. and another thing , i set the power to go to stand-by mode after a minute of inactivity.. but after a minute the power is still on , it won't go stand-by.. anyone having such problems?

hie.. need some advise,my p50's key-lock has some problem,once i lock it by pressing the top button the screen,and all the buttons will be disabled,but once i do any messaging the next time i lock it.. it would not lock,meaning if i accidentally press the screen , the function will be activated for instance messaging which is on the screen.. just upgraded to v1.12.. but problem still presisted.. any advise on this guys? thanks..

I also had a similar issue when i purchased the P50, i turned on the flight mode and turned it off, then the signals were back. its more than 3 weeks i havent got the situation again.

During my recent trip to Dubai to attend the Arab Lab Exhibition, I procured a Benq P50 - PDA phone (S/no. GSEC505250TG0, IMEI: 354768000130306) from Telefonika, RadioShack, Burjuman Showroom, Dubai, for 2,599 Dirhams on transaction #118715. I have used the phone only for one day (Monday, February 20, 2006). On Tuesday, the phone was not receiving or calling) but all other funtions are normal. The system icons on the navigational bar for signal when tapped gives a message No Service. What could this be?? How can I get the phone to work??

Hi all... I dun hav noisy sound problem on backlight... Btw... The SD card can be write n read easily... Did u check the write protection lock...? Anyway... Good news for all BenQ P50 user... I have try on the 2GB SD memory card and it's working... I'm using the Kingston brand... It show 1944MB in the memory status... Hav a nice day all...

Do you work for BenQ? How come everyone has a complaint about P50 while you try to sell it?
How do you overcome the problems others fail, can you go up the ladder and read comments of those who complain and give them clues how to be satisfied with this PDA. I was planing to sell my I-Mate and move to BenQ P50 but reading the critics, I am thinking more then twice if I should jump to it or keep my I-Mate.

Has anybody the same problem that the P50 can not able to write on SD cards? It's complainning that SD card is write protected which is certainnly not true. I tried 3 differentn SD cars.
Secondly, is anybody experiencing that the backlight is pretty noisy?

1. who said IR cant be set off...? untick receive all incoming beams under start>settings>connections>beam... bear in mind... if u turn off this may result ur bluetooth n wifi not functioning...
2. the bluetooth is working... but onli got:
a. dial-up networking
b. obex object push
c. voice gateway
services available when u link wif ur pc... thus file transfer is unavailable... but i hav try it wif my SE T610... the file still can be transferable... maybe my pc got some service unavailable wif it... but i still can transfer file in many ways... wifi... usb... IR... SD...
3. the backlight... incredible... in total no light u simply click a key will let u see clearly... if u cant see 1 pls tell me... but sometime the keyboard got problem... keep pressing but no response to type... have to use soft keyboard or reset it... hope got another firmware solve this...
4. Skype working... but i didnt use it... memory sux up... i prefer using microsoft portrait... can add webcam to it n play VOIP call... same like wat we can do wif 3G... but onli condition u hav to surf until hotspot area n the other user oso hav to install microsoft portrait software... im oso using msn messenger at the same time...
5. as i mention... wifi is working... but drain battery fast... now im using another 3G phone to surf net... then i link bluetooth wif my P50 to surf wif it... battery wont drain so fast n can surf anywhere...
6. touchscreen of coz function well... unless some user spoilt it... when u bought it sure dun hav any bad pixel...
7. In addition u can add GPS to it... fm radio... webcam... etc... Basically u can do anything wif it except edge n 3G... but u still can do video call wif additional webcam...
my advice is dun buy it... coz i wan this phone to be less in ppl hand so that i can show off in front of my frens... :P joking... go buy it... if got stock... hav nice day...
