You just need to put it to sleep mode first by press the power button once and when it in sleep mode than you unlock the battery button and you hear a tone and screen show battery unlock and turn off, now you can take out the battery and sim card and it shouldn't cause any reset.

unlock the battery lock it will automatically power off... if still hard reset then make sure u practice a habit to backup ur everything everyday regularly... if got 2 sims buy 2 phones lah... now i got 3 numbers wif 3 phones... maxis - SE T610(hotlink prepaid)... digi - BenQ P50(postpaid)... celcom - Siemens U15(3G Xpax prepaid)...

How the heck do you get this device to completely power off so you can take the battery out? What are the exact steps to be taken. I've tried this 10 different ways with the same effect - hard reset which wipes out all configurations. I can't use the P50 until I get this right as i need to be able to swap SIMs.... HELP!!!!

Hi,
I got my P50 1 month ago, crashed a few times with hard reset.
Failed to activesync with bluetooth as there is no "connect via bluetooth" option on the activesync.
Got a spare battery but pda will hard reset when changing battery. weired?
once there is totally no signal for gsm. need to hard reset to fix this.
Stupid pocket studio button.
Slow phone response (dialing/answering)
Thats all the complaints....
upgraded to 1.12

anyone, did succesfull to syncronize P50 with PC thru bluetooth? i tried but fail, i can make it until the ActiveSync connecting with P50, but finally the connecting was failed.
but i had make it send or received file etc thru blue tooth successful.
i had upgrade filrmware to V1.12
My activesync is V3.8.
i had follow all the setting according to the manual book. i am sure all the basic setting is done completely..
can anyone help me? thanks a lot.

Make sure you all upgraded to ver. 1.12 at mysmartbenq.com It fixes many problems in prior verisions and includes the fixing of the back light, improving battery life and improving service.

Sometime when ur phone off the backlit itself dun soft reset it... it may cause ur phone to low backlit setting... therefore u thought ur phone has no more backlit... just go to somewhere else which u can see the text n goto settings to change back the backlit to high... i think that should help u... anyway... my benq is upgraded to v1.12... yeah... hope solve the gsm signal... coz sometime no response... when press the power button... onli it show the message or miss call several minutes ago...

P50 is indeed one nice looking fone. when you hold it on ur palm it seems like ur holding a laptop on ur palm since its casing feels like a casing of a laptop.nice screen cant wait for a 262k(?)screen from them.key pad IMHO is better than the treo650(i knew it coz i also have one.)firmware is 1.11 battery last for a day with medium wifi and calls and text. beleive me its not the benQ but the OS. i owned an xda2 and a mini they all suck battery and indeed u need to carry a car chrgr or chrge it at the office if u do heavy fone use but still i can get a whole day with them.Sizewise it just appears to be big but once you hold it its more comfortable than a n9500(i also owned one before)now for the whats not to like(for me)
camera sucks big time even with flash.treo650 does a far more decent job than this one (treo650 inside a room 640x480 beats p50 w/ flash 1.3mp big big time)slow refresh times from closing an app compared with an xda2.(i dare not close an app and open one almost instantaneously or ill suffer from a major slowdown)64mb just dont cut it and a 13mb usable rom but hey its a very affordable phone compared to an imate or xda so its ok(but willing to pay xtra for bigger mem to avoid slowdowns)u need a fast hand if u want to change sim coz it can reformat it youll take time doing it(security measure by benQ? so if someone steals it and try using a new sim the robbers wont get a hold of ur info)Dang the black casing of this phone is damn too sexy hate getting nicks on it,so putting on a silicon protector will make it appear more thicker.theres a tendency(always)of hitting the cam button everytime you took it out of ur pocket or holster or just by holding it.so i have no choice but to disable it.forget docking cradles with this not unless u put it on its side(not an issue though,at least no silly propriety connectors here so just look for a usb cable and its universal)again its too Dang sexy hope treo700 will look and feel as this.:)
so as a whole would i recomend it, if ur comming from a palm esp a treo650 its a tough decision bec treo wins hands down in ease,one handed,business use. multi tasking,multi media use you cant go wrong with ur P50.its ur call just remember theres no PERFECT SMART phone,everyone have their own hic-ups.go try one find its comfort zone and treat it as a companion(business ha!)and you will go a long way with it.

Halp, My BenqP50 keys are not backlit anymore. Is this a feature? I'm not sure when and how this happens. Is there a good benq p50 community that I can take my problem to? Or anyone knows whats wrong :(( everything else seems to work (the keys works) but I just hate when something, and this is a big thing (I can't type in the dark!!), is not working. Also everytime I press a button, that seems to respond to the system (opens a program, etc), I hear a humming noise for couple seconds then gone. I never drop this thing, ever, no scratches, etc. It's been handled like a king :((

Coz it is rarely to get it and not so popular compared wif O2... Therefore we rate it so low so that less ppl buy then onli few of us own it... Hehe...

Thats one nice looking phone. Better looking than any O2's for sure. And it's dimensions are just right. Why is it rated so low ?

Ur P50 got problem... As for the bluetooth u must tick receive all incoming beam n open bluetooth to activate it...

Anyone know, how to sycronize the P50 with Bluetooth?
Again, I has problem with IR SYNC.. i follow the step on help screen to enable the IR sync, but it doesn't work.. the PC seens like do not detect the P50 IR, but i test the PC IR with my phone, its working properly..

goto http://support.benq.com , then click on Download Center. Select Product -> GSM Mobile Phone, Select Download Type -> Software(Patch), then click Query. Click on P50. Here you should find a file call "P50_Enduser_tool_V1.02", it's 27.9MB. But just now i found that it have removed... Dunno y they remove it... Got problem...? Omg.. Hope they only accidentally delete it... If you want the file, how am i gonna give you?
