Ok thx a lot Q answers ! the main disadvantage to me is that it does not have a radio but great sounds from the phone should cover it up haha

    Q answers, thanks for your kind comments. I agree with you, maybe some phones models (Nokias) can withstand a fair amount of 'dropping' but I guess no phones can make it if you 'always drop' it, especially if you drop it into water. The S88 can accept AAC and mp3 music formats only, and I use Nero to convert cds to 128kbs VBR files which in my humble opinion, sounds as good as if not better than mp3 on my S88. Yes the loudspeaker is indeed loud, the 'highs' of the sound is rather clear, I can't explain it, you have to hear it. It's comparable to some of the best speakers found in mobile phones today, not those squeeky ear piercing sound you might hear on others.

      1- no, the phone does not support wma format only mp3....which is better ;-)

      2- the S88 is very loud, it is even comparable to the W550.....so yes i think it is louder than K680, K750 and W800...

        does this phone supports WMA? is the sound loud compare to K618?

          @ Devil....

          First of all, there is obviously somethig wrong with your microsd, coz i personally noticed that crappy micro sd brands do not work properly with this phone....and what do you expect from a phone u "ALWAYS" drop from your hand??, obviously you are negligent...and i have the same thing to say as the kind person beneath my post...what do you expect from a led flashlight, if you want a good flash light get a digicam, coz you ain't gonna find a good enough flashlight on a phone camera...Finally, i think the S88 beats the HELL out of that Sorry(a**) ericsson...

            Dear Mr Devil, I strongly believe there's something wrong with your S88. You seem to be trashing this model? It's so unfair to people like us, you made it sound like a device fitted for the garbage. Flash is totally useless? Are you taking pictures in total darkess that is 10 metres away? :) I leave it to all peole out there to decide if SE W700 takes BETTER pictures than S88, especially CLOSE UPS.

              This is a bad phone it gets hanged every time u try to access Mcard.Any ways it also get wasted if you drop it from ur hand.By the way i forgot to say how bad the sound comes in headset.Flash is totally useless.It is a complete crap n waste of money.Its better to buy W700i. So every one listen to me don't buy S88!!!!!

                  Hi all, I have a question to ask. When i rip my cds using itune, my Benq S88 cannot seem to 'recognise' the files and play them even though it's stated that it can play back AAC files. Does anyone have the same encounter and what can be done? Thanks.

                    1- the S88 can not play .rm files, so i suggest transfering those files to a PC and converting them to .3gp or .mp4 format that the phone can play....there are a lot of such converting sw, like the ImToo 3gp converter

                    2-Alfredo ... never had such a problem, it's probably a problem with ur micro sd card, or u can try to upgrade ur sw version...

                      I have a Question
                      when I try to record a video whit my phone Benq S88 and I decide save the file in the internal memory i not have problems, but when I decide save the video file in the microSD memory the phone don`t work, I think is a problem whith the trasfer velocity or acces to the microSD memory, any help?

                        i have one question!! how can i run the videos that i recieved by the bluetooth takig into consideration that they use real player program to execute them??

                              1- yes u can use animated pics as background

                              2- the thing with BT on the S88 is that u have to pair with the other device before u can send data to that device.....it is not slow at all and it is easy to deal with...it's speed= 20kbps which is comparable to any other device like nokia or SE

                                hey mmm... well i want to know 2 things about this cellphone...:D i hope u can help me...

                                1st.- can u use animated gif images as a back ground???

                                2nd.- its true that bluetooth is hard to use... i mean to have problems to pairing and the transfer speed is slow...

                                  I realized that lots of people out there are curious about this phone. I own one and I will give some comments.

                                  Some cons...Are you tolerant of a slow menu navigation? It can be as slow as between 1-1.5 secs if you run through the menu and execute some commands like unlocking the phone and entering into mp3 player mode. And this occurs too when you navigate from one command to another, e.g. things like you search for a name to send sms to searching to sending sms and to sent sms confirmation, it all takes patience due to the slight lag. Fortunately writing sms isn’t terribly slow. It is unlikely for the phone to hang if you just have a little patience. Mine hang on me only when I navigate through the song or movie list stored on the micro SD card. It’s not common. Maybe it’s the card problem.

                                  You have to try the phone yourself to understand about the lag. I was hesitant when I tried it at first cos it’s definitely very slow when compared to Nokias. But I know about the speaker and camera quality so I decided why not I just get the phone. So for those who, after trying can convince themselves that this might be the phone..read on.

                                  I was rather pleased with the loudspeaker. It is really loud at MAX and without distortion. I played Josh Groban’s Canto Alla Vita and his voice came in powerfully clear. The treble is sweet and clear and the bass is audible. You can’t expect much bass from a tiny speaker. I did not regret the S88 considering that I hear so much distortion from SE phones at times.

                                  Next the camera…some commented that the camera is worse compared to SE K750i. I don’t own the SE so I can’t compare. But the pictures I took are definitely satisfying. I was opening the files created by my Fuji 5MP and the files by S88 for the same subject and I was amazed to see just how close the results were. Except for the softness at the corners, colour saturation and and exposure is great. I can’t wait to print them out on 4R. It’s one of the best cameras built into a phone that you can find these days. Many other people have given thumbs up for the camera, I will give it another. Macro mode is good. Focus is accurate. Auto focusing really helps a lot. And I can in fact focus down to 5cm, it’s great!

                                  Battery life is great too. You can easily use the phone for 3 days…mine lasted me 5 days and is still at 50% charge, I’m not a heavy user. Reception is good too, clear voice quality.

                                  I almost forget to mention the screen. It’s bright, so bright that I use power saving mode to tone it down. The colors are brilliant. Yes, many LCDs can match this screen but they can’t match the contrast ratio. Black is totally black so when I watch movie clips on the phone it’s like watching a mini plasma screen.

                                  Good job by Benq…if the navigation can be made faster it’s even better.

                                      1. the S88 camera is better than the K750 cam both on the mobile's screen which is very very obvious and on the PC screen and the zoom is more and the auto focus is better.

                                      2.the 3D sound option can be activated when in the mp3 player > options > 3d sound > on

                                      3.no u can't adjust the brightness of the screen...but the brightness is adjusted automatically when the camera is activated or when you are viewing pictures

                                      4.correction, you can rewind and fastforward vidoe on the S88

                                      5.the bluetooth here is fast enough, similar to the BT speed of other brand like SE K750 and all the nokias

                                      6.the highest memory is 1GB microsd card
