Bob, 05 Nov 2008I just heard that Rogers Wireless Canada and RIM just relea... moreWhere do you get information about OS 4.6.268 from? Currently AT&T has the latest 4.6.167 while the rest still in 4.6.162. The OS 162 fixes a lot of bugs from previous OS and it has free memory about 50MB.. But OS 167 has lesser memory about 40 MB but it fixes a bug in browser so you browse much faster using 167.

Yes, you can install any Bold OS to your device with some little trick. But please check your device limited warranty card before you do that.

    Hope this may helps.

Danny, 03 Nov 2008Hi I just need a phone that can be use as a small lap top f... moreHi Danny, the perfect phone for your requirements is neither Blackberry nor iphone, it is the Nokia E71. You can edit Word & Excel documents on the E71 and transfer them with ease to/from any pc. The calender/appointments/schedule feature of the E71 is the best on any mobile and syncronising with computer is very easy.
Its a classy looking phone that is very easy to use and has all the features you would expect in a smartphone. In fact its a laptop u can hold in the hand.
I recommend you check out the Nokia E71.

Ken, 31 Oct 2008Hmm..another iphone vs bb bold debate huh? To summarize it ... moreHey Ken,
I was wondering where I could get some good third party software for my bold. I've been looking for a few games, but just seeing some low quality 2D crap that seem to have been made for previous blackberry models. Nobody seems to have come up with any good games for the Bold as yet. Also just need to know of any other good applications in general.

And he's right about the screen ppl. My buddy has an iPod touch (same screen as iPhone) and he envies how videos look on my phone, and other ppl are impressed with the sound.

Hello! To everyone out there, I am very interested to buy a Blackberry? But I am stuck between the Blackberry Bold and the Blackberry storm. Which one of the two do you recommend that I should get taking into consideration of all the features each phone delivers.

The Bold has all the same functions as the Storm with Wifi but no touch screen. The Storm has full touch screen and the same features as the Bold but no wifi!!!

Which one should I go in for??? Bold with full qwerty keyboard or Storm with full touch screen??? Please let me know as soon as possible. I am waiting for your reply very urgently!!! Thanks a lot in advance. My email is (nicklaw8@yahoo.co.uk)

            Nick Law.

              Hi everyone

I bought my BB bold one week ago and as a guy on the road with a lot of mails to read it's a perfect one but i have to admit that there's some negatif point as :
THE BATTERY LIFE (a real probleme)
SOME LOST CONNECTION (don't know if it come from the BB but never had it before)
              THE LACK OF THEMES
THE GPS ( don't compare to a TOM TOM for example)
THE PRICE (520 € in Belgium)

              Positif point :

              THE LOOK
              THE SCREEN (quality)
THE KEYBORD (even if i have big fingers)
              THE BUSINESS orientation (the best)
THE POSSIBILITY TO REORGANISE THE MENU
              THE PUSH-MAILS
              THE SOUND
              INTERNET THROUGHT WIFI
              AND MANY MORE

              Conclusion :

The BB BOLD is a great phone for business purpose with a touch of multimedia so don't need to compare it to the IPHONE(more focus on multimedia) because they doesn't play is the same league

                  Hello People
the bold vs iphone. as i work for o2 i will tell you my opinion.
i have had iphone 3g and bold but using the bold now.
iphone is great for all sorts but i would have to say the web browser is the best on iphone for sure then bold although the bold aint bad its just not on the same level experience.
i have had a few problems with bold browser bluetooth and hmtl email, but now with a software update is corrected.

Major problem with US AT&T release. I purchased the AT&T branded phone and as of 3 days after activation phone still cannot access Blackberry Internet Service. Huge problem since most of us rely on these for email. Everything else works great. Blackberry says it is a known issue and gave me a Trouble ticket... It doesn't make sense why they can't fix this quickly. With the phone being released today nationwide should be interesting to see what happens.

I had the BB Bold 9000 with o2 for one week and was extremely impressed with its ease of use, applications, keyboard, screen - you know, we've all read the outstanding reviews and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Sadly after a few days use I noticed some bugs appearing with the software - I was unable to delete some SMS messages, they would only finally go by taking out the battery. The bluetooth was unable to send files without dropping the connection but did receive them ok. We tried this with multiple devices with the same result. While connecting my headset it dropped the connection and my headset switched off. I thought the charge may have gone but the headset had actually been damaged in some way and would not switch back on resulting in me having to buy a new bluetooth headset. The browser failed to impress me too I have to say! I took the phone in to o2 and as always the staff there were very helpful but despite over an hour of calls to a BlackBerry Rep and an unsuccessful software upgrade the problem not was not resolved. A different unit was brought out to replace it but similar problems were detected immediately with the bluetooth. I can't tell you how disappointed I felt after weeks of deliberating between the BB Bold and the iphone I had determined that the Bold was the one for me. The staff at o2 suggested I tried the iphone, after all I could always return it within the 14 day new contract cool off period if I was dissatisfied, so reluctantly I took the iphone home. The user interface and stunning screen blew me away immediately. The photo's taken with its 2 meg camera look fantastic viewed on the phone's photo application even in full screen mode and on my computer, much better than my old 5 meg camera phone which really amazed me. E-mail was set up in seconds and the bowser surpasses all my expectations, its fantastic. I could go on but as sad as I was to see my BB Bold go I am much more impressed with the iphone. I'm pleased really that I had the opportunity to try both. If you're a pure business user I can see the attraction to any BlackBerry device. For me its a combination of business and pleasure - The iphone has mixed the two with astonishing results, much more effectively than the Bold. I know its difficult to choose which phone (or multimedia device which also makes phone calls) to choose when comparing side by side so I hope my experience helps you decide if you're stuck between the two devises like I was!
