But I do see it pretty much blowing everything out of the water once they get it working properly.

I have used a Storm in my local Vodafone store today but it is slow when using the menu/OS.The Bold is a lot quicker to respond and it is easier to navigate with the trackball.
I have decided to go for the Bold,it is the best Blackberry at the moment.

iLUVZtehIPOWNZ, 11 Nov 2008Just wanted to share these with you guys. 1. BlackBerry ... moreHey,

I saw that you know a great deal about this Bold phone. I am probably going to start not only selling it but use it myself mainly because of of that multi-tasking you spoke of.

My question to you is... will the BB Shadow be able to do all of this also??

              Thanks in advance.

Forget the Internet Explorer that's just a joke. SkyFire is beyond any Web Browser for phones. It puts iPHONES browser to shame. skyfire.com go see the demo video if you dont believe me.

I've been undecided for a few months on which phone I wanted to buy. I thought about picking up a Blackberry Storm, the HTC Touch HD, the Samsung Omnia and the iPhone 3G. I finally picked this phone above the rest and I gotta say that this was the best decision I ever made. Now I'm sure the HTC Touch HD will be amazing, but it doesn't have North American specs for 3G use so owning one would be pointless. The Blackberry bold is solid, offers everything I need in a phone and even though it just looks like a rectangle with curved edges in pictures. It's quite pleasing to look at once you have it in your hand. Anyways, I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants a smartphone/PDA or to anyone who would prefer a physical Qwerty keyboard over a touch screen device. Oh one last thing...The battery life is incredible!!

PS. I'll be back in a few weeks to give an update on reliability of the phone, along with any issues that might've come up since this posting.

I bought this phone few days ago but sold it today! Not because I hate it but I just saw all the features and thought to wait till Storm models become available in my area (United Arab Emirates).

I like the Blackberry Bold and will defiantly buy a Blackberry after I check the touch screen models. Here is what I didn’t like about the Blackberry Bold:

1- The mouse ball seems to be very sensitive and doesn’t function correctly. Sometimes the cursor freezes and sometimes disappears.
2- I was surprised that Blackberry service does not include video streaming. When I try to watch youtub.com movie it asks to connect through WAP, the 3G paid-by-kilobyte service. I don’t understand what the hell Unlimited Package stands for then?!
3- I was, and still, looking for a mobile phone that loads web pages as they are, which is why I went for unlimited package. I hate mobile version of Internet except when using emails.
4- The SIM slot is bigger than the regular size of the SIM card. I don’t understand why! The SIM card gets fixed only by squeezing it between the metal fixing top and the bottom plastic surface.
5- It doesn’t have dedicated security option for separate applications. You can either lock or unlock the whole phone together. While in a very typical Samsung phone you can specify the applications that you want to lock, e.g. messaging, contacts, memory brewing, etc.
6- It doesn’t copy contacts from phone memory to SIM card even though it shows the option in the menu. I had hundreds of contacts copied to its memory and when I sold it I had time only to handwrite the necessary ones in papers!
7- In the email applications it mixes up between send and received messages and it distinguish between them by a symbol in the left side of the message. Every time you need to view a particular message folder you need to specify that from the menu, and the view will be back mixed as soon as you reload the application.
8- For such a full-of-option machine, I felt the screen size is too small, which is why I will be waiting for the touch screen version of it.

But I liked its speed, voice clarity (compared to my old Samsung that I’m still using), shape and solidity of the keyboard and simplicity of use (compared to Windows mobile).

However, buying a Blackberry seems to be a must coz it’s the only mobile phone that supports Internet and Emails together for a fixed monthly rate.

                          Guys, question:

Updating software - is it country specific?

I am the Netherlands with KPN. Can i download the new OS from AT&T or Roger? Any other insight would help.

                          Cheers!

Just wanted to share these with you guys.

                                1. BlackBerry phones are the only phone that you can use Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, and AIM, simultaneously, in real time.

                                2. BlackBerry phones are the only consumer phones at the moment which have PUSH EMAIL for Google and Yahoo email addresses. So if your domain name goes through Google, there you have it, push email.

                                3. The Bold has the same screen resolution as the iPhone. Since it's smaller, the screen deceives a lot of people to think that it's better. The truth is, it's sharper.

                                4. BlackBerry devices running on OS 4.2 upwards can play AAC+ encoded files.

                                5. So far, the only device that has enabled me to simultaneously chat with 15 people at one time, is a BlackBerry. I do not recommend this, as it gets one a sore thumb.

                                6. I was listening to music while I was chatting.

                                7. I sent an email with several photos attached before I chatted with the 15 people.

                                8. That is what you call multi-tasking. A lot of new iPhone users claim this is not possible.

                                9. The BlackBerry Bold isn't really for small people. Wait for the BlackBerry Javelin, which apparently has an LCD/LENS for a screen, and has a higher resolution that an iPhone/Bold.

well i find the blackberry bold too much complexable, its not good for all of us because first its screen size is too much small , and the second thing its too much heavy set. thts why i dont think that its good , because i compared this with HTC touch Diamond.... thts too much good and also Samsung new model is very good which is i900 ..... Thts why guys think twice before purchasing this product.

                                      Thanks
