I grew up in the city that invented and manufactured the blackberry. Blackberries were mainly for business purposes so it was not so popular with the everyday people. They want to expand to everyone since our city is growing so rapidly, so they put on a camera, video recording and all this jazz but they still remember their roots. For all those who complain about cameras being so important, thats fine, buy another phone but RIM doesn't care. They meet the business people's demands and they're doing a damn good job of it.

You'd probably be better off with this Blackberry as opposed to HTC.
The HTC doesn't have a keyboard you can actually see under very bright conditions. The screens on the HTC's are not transflective making it nearly impossible to see the screen in bright daylight conditions. At least this puppy has a functional keypad you can use under any conditions.

I wonder how this phone will shape up to the Nokia E71 and HTC Touch Pro. Im waiting to upgrade and deciding on which one to get. Hope the Blackberry comes out soon as well as the HTC so I can finally make a decision.

these blackberrys are all amazing and are taking over in the uk. the bold is a masterpiece and is very stylish. i dont know about the touchscreen model but find that touchscreens are pretty shite to use anyway.

GREAT NEWS !!!
After the news of BlackBerry Bold 9000 being released in Canada on July 25, via Rogers, we now have an even earlier release date for RIM's flagship smartphone: July 21. Unfortunately for all the BlackBerry fans in North America, the Bold will be available starting this date only in Europe, offered by T-Mobile Germany.
The retail price of BlackBerry Bold 9000 will be quite high (probably higher than expected): 550 Euros, meaning around $860. This is even more than the retail price of Apple's new iPhone 3G, which was announced by AT&T to come free of contract too, for $599 (the 8GB version) and $699 (the 16GB version). Sure, prices in Europe have always been higher than the ones in the States, and the Bold is a powerful smartphone while the iPhone 3G is more like a multimedia device, but the European price still seems high.
Luckily, T-Mobile Germany has other offers to come with the BlackBerry Bold. Thus, the smartphone can be bought for as low as 89.95 Euros ($140) with a contract agreement for two years and an expensive data plan.
