It looks like an iPhone got raped by a Palm Centro and popped out a fat baby. Not a bad look.

      and yes,
blackberry can read MS office documents like Word, Excel en Powerpoint. You can also read PDF documents.
Normaly it's not possible to edit documents, but you can find lots of app's on the internet that will do that.

        Hi,

I use a Blackberry 8110 Pearl, witch has GPS inside. It works just fine. I use mostly BB Maps, witch is only for looking up and planning your routes. For spoken directions i use NAV4ALL (.com), witch is a free application.
The best thing about Blackberry is, i think, it is very stabel. We've tried to stall the software, and it took us 2 hours!

You can get a lot of software from www.handango.com. They have different software for all kind of smartphones.

        greatings,
        Pruygje

Its the perfect BlackBerry, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, 624mhz CPU, High res display, BEAUTIFUL, QWERTY keyboard, NO Touchscreen, support for popular video formats etc. . . Im lovin it, cant wait to try one of these out,but im curious about this BlackBerry OS. Are there a lot of apps available for it (excluding Java)? And where do you get the BB apps? What websites and forums?

As a blackberry user, I search for practical functionality in all the phones that I use, I feel that this is the best blackberry phone that I have seen since I started my research and use of these phones.
I hope that this will hit Britian as stated in June 2008 at a reasonable price with or without a contract as I am looking forward to purchasing this phone.

Wow, those of you complaining that this phone is junk, or an iphone copy, or a useless have no idea at all about market demographics. A Blackberry is not meant to be a digital camera, not meant to be an MP3 player nor a video player...thats what those stand alone respective devices are for. I dare anyone to take a pic with their 5mp phone and the 4 mp Digital Camera, blow them up to 8x10 and see which one looks better.

Blackberry's are meant to be used by Business people, people who need email on their hip 24/7, things that most productive corporate employees in fact do need. Wifi is great when someone is in a hotspot or wifi area as they can cut down on data charges, thus saving them costs and increasing profit. Faster emails = better efficiency. This has nothing to do with being able to take family photos or watch the monkey stick his finger up his but on youtube. It is about getting work doen quick and fast.

As for it being a Moto or iPhone knock off...you couldnt be more off...tis looks nothing liek an iphone other then that they are both curved rectangles...and the Q9 actually came out after the new BB's did...ppl in Canada would know this as most BB's are released here first.

blackberry's arent meant to replace iphones, or you digital camera cell phone. They are for business people who need real computer utilities in their hand(e-mail and a phone book) a 5mp camera is of no use to 85% of RIM's customers...as for comparing it to the iphone, there are laundry lists of what both devices can or cannot do to compare them is useless because the iPhone is for those who want something cool that they can do everything and make an occasional phone call...the Blackberry is for those who need to communicate with others through email and calling...not for youtubing...

Those of you who sit here all day and complain about Nokia being better or apple being junk obviously spend less time outside in the real world interacting with real, people get over it.

also last I checked RIM was dominating the business sector like Apple dominates iPods so I think those techs in Ontrio know a little bit about what they are doing (also RIM's market share has only been increasing the past 2 years so dont say they are doing this to keep customers as most customers by the smaller lower-end BB's and the 9000 wont be their top seller...mainly because most ppl dont need half the crap in it)

The backside is leather-like, but not real leather. I like it. More grip and it won't be a fingerprint magnet like the HTC Diamond's backside. It is also replaceable and interchangeable with different colors. Good move, RiM!

5%rp, What do you mean by "having wifi on blackberry is useless because you can't use it for anything"? What can't you use wi-fi for?
LOL, please clarify. I'd like to understand what you meant.

Great BB baby. I got 8320 3 months ago, but now that the sleek good-looking berry is out with video playback, wi-fi AND GPS - I cannot WAIT!!

                            Great Phone and nice design.

Is the back made of leather?

And for i-phone people, it's just sad that that phone was even made, typical apple marketing for stupid people and little girls

To the poster praising the iPhone, who cares? Most overrated phone by the greatest marketing gimmick ever. Without Neonode multi- touch imitation, flashy animations and widgets, it is outdated as an actual phone. RiM got it right with this phone. I may get it for AT&T. Speculated release date is July. Perhaps w/ a subsidized $300 price. I like the backside of this phone than the HTC Diamond which looks like a grease magnet on BOTH sides. I'm starting to hate this current touchcreen fad because of it.

This is a blatant rip off of the Palm Treo 500v. At least it looks better than all the other Blackberry models.

Had all sorts of smartphones.Bought a new one each six months, until my first blackberry. Then it stopped because the 8310 was what I had been looking for all these years spending thousands of dollars on disappointments. The 9000 will even be better I think.480x320 screen that's like the iphone. Can't wait to buy it,...
