    BB, 18 Apr 2010Dear JRF,,, Good Day,,, well, do you have any idea if... moreThe main difference is that when you buy one directly from a carrier it comes witht the settings already set in and ready for use with the carrier's network. It comes locked to them so you can't use it with another SIM card unless you unlock it. If you buy it unlocked or directly from RIM it will need to be set up properly for it to work with your carrier. You can do it yourself or they should do it free if you need them to. I would recommend buying directly from a carrier due to warranty and setup issues, because I don't like have to setup everything that should be automatically there.

                      Don't worry, you will only get the account updated on the device. This may delete what you've sent but it will allow you to use the account as easy and quick as yahoo or gmail (with enhanced plugin). When I added my accounts I didn't lose anything because it was the first time I added them, so I didn't have anything to lose.

                        also, it says: (If you switch to the Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol, you will not be able to perform some actions on email messages that are already on your device, including replying to and forwarding email messages and viewing attachments.

                        You cannot return to using POP after you switch to the Microsoft Mobile Services Protocol.)

                        So i will loss some features..am I???

                            And as Colpower27 puts it; in essence
                            Blackberry = Business
                            iPhone = Entertainment

                              blackberrian, 16 Apr 2010actually it depends on what u want mostly dude..both of the... moreI will have to agree. You could use a BB for fun and entertainment, and you can use an iPhone for business.

                              However in general, BB are more preferred as a business tool as it's focus is on the free instant messaging, which business users need alot, rather then playing music or video. With an actual keyboard texting is much easier, then say texting on a touchscreen.

                              BB IM allows you to IM anyone in the world with a BB without extra data charges. In order to do that on the iPhone you need to pretty much have a Data Plan, as not many plans allow for International Texting. Or in general you gotta pay extra.

                              iPhone is preferred for entertainment due to how it interacts with video/audio. For Audio iTunes and Coverflow works really well on iPhone/iPod Touch platform, and makes it really easy to see what song is playing the cover art, flip through your albums etc etc. You also have an App to access youTube so you can play videos there.

                              The screen on the BB is decent, but isn't as good as the 3.0 or higher screens on the touchscreen based smartphones more geared towards multimedia.

                                [deleted post]actually it depends on what u want mostly dude..both of them have their own ability,their own strength,their own weaknesses..to me both of them are superbly great bro!!..BB is not just for business n iphone also does not for entertainment!..BB also for fun n entertainment n iphone also can do some business thing..both of them powered by their own Oses..Mac for iphone n BB os for BB..both of them have their own portal to 3rd parties software..u can search n install what ever apps u want to ur device..whether it is business app,or entertainment app..

                                my facts coming from experience bro!..i own these 2 devices..iphone 3g n BB curve 8520 aka gemini (this killer machine - BB bold 2 aka onyx,is my next target)..hahaha..thats y i know about it..(although im not an expert but still can be useful to others..hehehe)..so,my suggestion..u need to go to any mobile shops around u and take a deep look towards these 2 devices..hold them,feel them,play with them to get some ideas..then make a good research..dont just refer to GSMarena only..good luck n happy buying..hohohoh..
