This is the first Blackberry device that I have ever owned and honestly I LOVE IT. It does everything a smart phone should do, the GPS feature is amazing and what I love best of all is the AWESOME battery life. I don't know how Blackberry did it the battery life is amazing, its like the enegizer bunny,lol. Anyway, I highly recommend this phone. Light weight, awesome battery life, tons of applications, and a fast processor. Keep it up Blackberry you've hit the nail on the head with this one, I LOVE IT !!!

in my country, still the App world is not active,
but i am downloading applications from: www.getjar.com.
it has more app. than blackberry.com & they are free...

why is it that when i send the link from the app world to my bb bold 9700 email and when i open the link... the download does not begins? how will i fix this?

Is it really worth it after this change? Or should I just forget about this upgrade (if I may call it!). Appreciate your feedback and thanks for the advice.
P.S: the camera and optical trackpad is not really my main target but rather fuctionality.

Clearly, i got this phone on vodafone, and within 3 weeks of using i upgraded to the new software. 545. and the camera stopped working and video camera. Vodafonme told me to downgrade to solve this probel, amd cleary it didnt work.....
This is why im gnna order a replacement next day for them to pick up my nochto phone and deliever me a brand fesh new one.

Max, 20 Mar 2010I've been using bold 9000 for an year and then I bought the... morei am not too sure. I too made the switch from 9000 to 9700 , but honestly i miss the broad key pad size and wide screen size of 9000. Its much easier to type on 9000 than 9700 so cant say as of now was it a wise move or not....!!

BB 9700 is amazing , great , fabulous...etc , but if they can improve little bit the battery consumption, and they will ;)

Ralph, 25 Mar 2010In order for the GPS on both BB9700 & 8530 to function ... moreThe GPS will lock and everything but in order to use Blackberry Maps or Google maps, you will need a BIS plan. Although, some carriers lock the GPS function to make you pay an extra fee for it.

The sms-ing is getting to my nerves. i luv this phone, but sending and receiving texts is making me miserable. i'm still finding it tough to connect with my home wireless and even with my service provider. I don't want to believe yet that i've burnt my money. pls help esp with the sms thing

In order for the GPS on both BB9700 & 8530 to function does it require to be in a Data plan with the telecom provider or it includes a chip that communicates directly with the satellite?

There is this complaint in bold 2.The first person you sent message to will continiously receiving all other messages sent out to other receipients. What could be responsible for this? I have experience this from about 6 customers. A particular customer was desperate he stopped at the 3rd trial. But then it does'nt, occur to all, nor have I experience it in other Blackberry models. Do you have a representative in Nigeria who can assist to correct this. Thanks for your prompt reply and assistance.
