So...after playing with the 9780 while owning a torch,it's a great phone but bb6 is better on the torch.it's quicker and much more comfortable thanks to the touch screen!!!thoes of you with the 9700 stick with it and do it with bb5 .torch owners...keep working with the best!

I have both the bold 9700 and 9780, there is more then meet the eye with the 9780. althought a face value the differences aren't very apparent. the 9780 is basically the 9700 with a new engine. the rom and ram have been upgraded. the new camera is more then better on the 9780 and compared to the torch, it looks better too. plus a major update is the HSDPA addition. i've seen on many sites stating the 9700 comes with HSDPA but this isn't true. if u liked the 9700 and are not looking for a touch screen phone, then the 9780 is a great upgrade. on face value, the speed is very visible. on a bad note, i think they could have changed the appearance of the phone.

I bought the 9780 last week in India (for Rs.27,500) and the OS 6, speed of the phone is great...

I bought 9700 white 3 months ago, n i really like it.
n the double ram n camera in 9780 make me think : why i not wait until 9780 is coming,, hmm

we r vry disappointing wth 9780 as compare ti bb9700 bcoz we r getting leather finish in bb9700 bt in 9780 plastic finish vry disappointing and everything is ok bt there r sme additional accessory or content should we given

9780 is no diff as compare to 9700 bt bb should give same apps which is given by other respective com like nokia and Sam even iphone cums wth built in apps on 3gs and 4

This might just be the phone that stops me buying an iphone 4. I prefer the features of the iphone but can't justify the cost when this offers similar performance and much better signal strength.

This is almost excatly the same of 9700. They just upgrade the camera. But in 9700 we can also install the Version 6. BB manufacturer please dont play with your customers.

It is better than the torch in my opinion.
It is exactly the same as the Bold 9700 except with double the RAM and 5.0MP camera. It also has OS 6; however, an update for the 9700 will have OS 6 soon enough.
It would be nice to see an increase of the internal storage up from 256MB! I use many applications and some might need more! Too bad RIM does not allow applications to be stored on the Media Card!
Double the RAM speed and the 5MP camera is worth the upgrade!

The difference between the Bold 9700 and Bold 9780 is the same as the difference between the iphone 3g and 3gs.
Alot of existing Bold 9700 users will say it's not worth it.... Let me tell you as a user of both phones, that it is a worth while upgrade as the speed difference is amazing. We live in a generation of speed and in my honest opinion having owned a Blackberry Torch 9800 the Bold 9780 is the BEST blackberry device to date.
It does what a berry is supposed to do and it does it very efficiently, if you want the best berry then get this handset and don't be duped into getting the torch as the keyboard on it is soooo CRAP!!!
