i bought many blackberries but non of them were really bad like 9790 i got mine four months ago
and sense that time all problems that i never saw in other blackberries showed .. i really hate this phone ... =(

ryan17, 19 Oct 2012the phone is good but the battery lets it down battery does... moreTurn DOWN the backlight brightness to 10% and turn OFF the automatic backlight dim/adjust function. The screen will look the same as the defaulted battery hogging 50% bright and auto dim on.
Doing this improved my battery life. Also upgrade to 7.1 and turn ON application manager which closes unused apps that run permanently in the background. Also some apps automatically turn back on after you close them so keep checking to see what apps are running and close them. Also the way your Cellular Carrier may have your phone device set up or registered may hog your battery resources since the phone may have chatter between it and your cell service provider. I know with T-Mobile service in the USA something they use or have always 'chatter' with my devices.

7.1 offers application management and wifi hotspot to the 9790. the application management when switched on will improve you battery life substantially since it will automatically monitor and close background apps to help battery life. I had 7.0 for the day I picked up my phone and the lastest fall 2012 7.1 bundle was worth the upgrade. Older versions of 7.1 are buggy so look for the recent 7.1 that Rim released sept/oct 2012.

I was using this cell before but i do not found any complians except battery life was poor i used facebook emails twitter on full day and my battery last for hardly 4hours but i lost my cell and now i m confused what to buy again blackberry of some other cell freinds plz suggest me... i need ur help

I touch the 9790 and i fell it's a little bit of squeezy because the keyboard are squeezed and it's trackpad is as sensitive as touching a wolf's fur.FAILURE

this is a terrible phone. i have had it since may 2012. i have had 2 battery replacements and a totally new handset replacement and now im waiting on a totally new phone replacement as it has the same original problems. the battery life is very poor and the touch screen works when it feels like it. it freezes and turns itself off at will and is not reliable at all. my advice.....DO NOT GET THIS MODEL!!

Could you please let me know whether the GPS works (Google Maps / Berry Maps) with just the BBM activated, and NOT the full BIS services?

I need help, I bought this phone sometime in May and now the touchscreen keeps failing. I have to reboot everytime before it works. Is anyone facing the same issue here? Its very irritating and disappointing after spending much to acquire it....

AnAm, 10 Oct 2012Should i buy blackberry bold 9900 or 9790 please suggest me... morebuy the 9900, the 9790 is a rubbish phone, poor battery life and the touchscreen stops working after a few months - you have to keep rebooting the phone for the touchscreen to work...i'm still waiting for the official release for 7.1

i can send no problems at all emails and recieve however when i send an email from the phone the handset is doubling up the text in the email and also the signature at the end of the email ( the section that says sent from blackberry device )
Can you shed some light on how to fix this please,
