I just bought this Bold 9790, so far I'm quite happy. I love it coz it is small, very compact but I really hate the touch-screen features on a small screen. Loudspeaker is decent, camera is ok... but remember, BB phones are not imaging phone.
I hope there's an option to deactivate the touch screen.
by the way, to fellow users... I want to know, is it normal coz everytime when I make a calls and during the call, something just beside the led is blinking fast and continuously.
i tried restarting my phone but still the same when i'm making calls.
so let me know if this is a fault or normal, thanks!

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2012I got the blackberry bold 9790 the battery dies really fast... moreWhen you're not using the phone, change the network into 2G, it's use less batery than 3G (or even 4G network as the bb 9900 has,that's why 9900 batery is easily to drain)
And u can also set the backlight brightness up, as lower as u set the backlight brightness, it'll more save the battery

bb 9900 battery is horrible never usaw such a bad battery till date.regret buying it.plzzzz guys dont buy.

RIM told that the target for these new os7 phones is that the user gets thru the day with average use. So if you're a really heavy user then go with the 9700/9780, but if on average i am happy with the battery life of my bold 9900. The graphics on the os7 more than makes up for it. Remember that you are always looking at your phone, if it is an eyesore then what is the use of having it. To each his own. I say is if u want that model, go get it. There's lots of portable battery packs there anyway if you really need.

I have had almost every blackberry and this one by far is my favorite. The touch screen is great, it's fast. The speaker works great. I play all my music on it as well as watch videos. AWESOME! I love BBM and really enjoy using the wikitude app. The camera works just fine. I carry both my bold and my playbook and love the blackberry bridge option if i can't find wifi. Great product!

hi can some one help me plzzzzz. i got the BB9790 but the ringer is off and i tried to turn on the ring tone its not working how do i fix this problem. Any help is much appreciated.

i guess the BOLD3 is really nice and i love my phone, i dont understand why is everybody compalining about the battery life, i use my phone of msgs, music and emails and for calls as well and my phone's battery life is great infact at times i dont even charge my phone for 2 days.

I have used this phone for 3 days. On the first day the 9790 was hot and the battery was drain really fast. I think the phone was doing some update and sync tasks. On the second day it works normal. I love the phone. Very useful. I like the OS too, very smooth.
I tried the Wi-Fi music sync but it just can't download the music. I don't know why.

I have Blackberry 9800 and this 9790. They are good fones I must say. However I am not even 20% satisfied with their battery lives. I have asked most Blackberry fone users, they are all complaining about battery short life for all Blackberry's. I have gone to such an extent as bringing back my Nokia to use because of its excellent battery life. My Nokia can last the whole day with Low Battery Warning. RIM do something about battery lives.

I had a 9900. Battery Lasts only 3 to 4 hours i.e if you are lucky and it also had audio issues people told me my voice sounded like a robot.Used it for two weeks got rid of it. Any one using 9790 can tell me how the battery is cos i want to buy a 9790 or the new curve.Need battery to last like it did in bold 2 and bold 3....Or should i stick to bold 3 ..... Thanks in advance.... Have used galaxy 2, and BB 9900,Sony Play in the last 2 months ... Hope to find a phone which does what a phone needs to do well

have using this phone for last two days, and the battery life is pathetic, after charging battery full nite - it lasts only for 3 to 4 hours only, one fifteen min call and half battery drains out. Waste of money, earlier had 9900 bold - that too has same problem.

All you want from a Blackberry is BBM, Texts, Emails and calls. There is no point in upgrading! the 5mp cameras are nothing to write home about. Unless RIM bring outs a extended battery then get the 9790. I had 9900 and sold it off, a bit too wide for my liking. Great for typing but not comfortable for one hand use. Im definitely going back to the rock solid 9700 for its easier OS5 and battery life.

dunno when will they get done with the batteries issues with all the new models..till now 9700,9780 batteries are the best!
