Have been using BB 9790 for the past 10 days. The most noticebale difference is in the speed becoz its got 1ghz. The battery life is quite poor, ringer and alerts volumes are very way too low even after keeping it in volume 9.
The touch screen behaves very differently when connected to charge and the phone behaves funny when connected to the BB desktop software.
Overall I should say a disappointment after migrating from Bold 9780.

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2011my phone goes on speaker phone mode while talking..... what... moreYou know its a touch screen and it is sensitive so its probably your ear that touches the speaker mode while you are on the phone.to avoid that try locking the keypad using the button at the top of the phone before placing the phone on your ear.that should help

What we need are reliable communication tools and maybe document viewer/editor, i havent stumbled to a business email that i cant opened. i use excel n other document program alot n in BB its all sufficient ( except for the small screen maybe)

But when it comes to emails, attachments, flash support, Skype calls, Streaming TV, GPS Navigation, business applications , I proudly can say Galaxy W excels with flying colours. Every mobile has its own Pros n Cons but in Galaxy I am surprised I can't find even 1% complaint. But in BB I can count drawbacks on my tips. I also use Nokia C 7 and it has its own Pros n Cons. I still like it. We must explore all options in technology. That's my opinion.

Please read my post. I am myself using BB 9780 (today I sold my BB 9900 as could not overcome frustration) Even though bought it from BB shop (not from unreliable supplier). Can you please elaborate what can your BB do that android can't. Because I find my BB 9780 very mild in performance when compared to my Galaxy W. No flash support, skype, GPS, video and audio streaming cost fortune. Why is RIM planning to add Android support in 2012. Please enlighten me on this battle. Thanks John.

Problem with blackberrys is always the same(since they always have exactly the same model from the begining to the end of days) they always have too small screen and too many buttons... Dead simple....

BB is no.1 in Indonesia for example because it can do what Android cant, is a far superior business tool, far better made than $2 Android devices, and not full of bloatware, battery and security issues. You are yourself out of touch with the real world.

yes, RB you are right in some points. and the rest you are telling the the truth too.
imho there is always pros & cons for everything. correct, BB prices are indeed higher compare to others which offer more in terms of apps or performance.
but BB sure excels in the messaging/email and its data encryption part.
others are doing well in apps & multimedia, so you can always choose or maybe if you can afford it you may have both.
i've tried every os/models before so i can say that each of them do well in certain areas, and sometimes the design & form factors do count. recently i am getting very annoyed when seeing people around me doing stuff with their touch screen gadgets so i bought a BB. maybe when i am bored with the buttons then i will switch to a very basic design phone again
touch screens are quite costly too when comes to replacement/repair. you may be very lucky if you can still use it without repair when you accidentally drop it. and even how good or bad your phone is you are not using it for life, so we are always changing & keep looking for the latest/newest and the best we think it is. maybe today you feel BB is the best for you, but you cannot guarantee maybe next year you will start to like iphone.
