Bev, 30 Mar 2010Hi, I am about to change my phone this week, and can't deci... moreI just bought the BB8520, i did look at the nokia x6, but since it has the same interface as 5800, i don’t like the way it handles text messaging and in many ways nokia is trying to get into the touch screen market with its s60 operating system, which was predominantly designed for keypad, they are still struggling. Don’t take me wrong, i love s60 operating system but for me it works much better in E72. 8520 is not a fancy phone, camera is 2 mp but in good light it works well (having said that i never use my phone as camera). Messaging is absolutely amazing, this is my very first BB, i wanted a phone with good voice quality, a smart phone which is reliable (i.e. does not hang or freeze), good battery life and ‘qwerty’ key pad for texting etc, not for business use. I have been using it for 10 days and am very happy with the voice quality and the phone never froze on me. Battery life is not as good as i wanted it to be, but not bad either. However, i think keypad could have been better. I hope this is helpful.

Hi, I am about to change my phone this week, and can't decide between the X6 and a Blackberry Curve 8520, anyone had expereince of both? if so which is better in your opinion? I'm not a business user, and wanting to send alot of txts, browse the internet, and access Facebook, but also take reasonably good pictures with my phone, the music side of it would just be an added bonus.

According to the posts I have read it seems that the BB is really a gr8 phone. Would you all say the BB 8520 is better to take than the HTC Snap?

Hi guys, I just got the BB 8520 and I'm trying to download some stuff. But each time I try, an error message usually comes up. Is there something I haven't done? Thanks for your help.

michael, 30 Mar 2010Can your tether the BlackBerry Curve 8520? like the iphone?... moreYes you can, but you need to check with your carrier if your plan supports it. And use Desktop Manager, the newest version from RIM's website. And use the option "IP Modem".

justin, 29 Mar 2010how to unhide in this phone?Unhide? I'm guessing folders/apps, right?
                        Hide/Undhide apps and folders:
Press menu, hightlight the app/folder and press menu again. Select Hide.
Or, select Show all, and hightlight the app/folder and press menu, and select Unhide.

If you mean a picture that you've hidden for privacy, then I'm not sure since I've never really done it.

My 8520 works very well, but the picture quality is very poor - it takes almost 1/10th of 2M photos. I have, of course, set it at 2 M in the settings. Even the size of the captured image is only a few kb as opposed to in 100's kb for a 2 megapixel image.

Has any one else faced this problem. Please help - I am to the point of dumping this new phone just because of this....

                                        Thanks.
