Nishant, 09 Mar 2010Hi friends. This is a real hands on experience. I have a no... moreNice quick review! And didn't seem to have any fanboyism. One thing I was glad to read was about Nokia Messaging. Once I saw a video and saw how nice it looked on a n97, I was re-interested in getting a black e71 or e75. I chose my blackberry over the e71 because of hotmail support (chat and email) and the Facebook app. Nokia's have a shortcut to the mobile site, and Blackberry a full function app, except for some more recent Nokias. Now that I can get Windows Live Messenger on the e71 I kinda want it. I just don't want to go through another buggy Nokia that corrupts my memory card and deletes everything on its own. But I'm pretty sure the e71 has enough FW updates by now to have a stable OS. How would you compare the keyboard? I have rather large fingers and my thumbs are ok typing on the 8520's keys. I noticed the e71 has a tighter keyboard layout, so I was wondering if its easy to get used to or probably not? An honest opinion would be appreciated deeply.

Hi friends. This is a real hands on experience. I have a nokia e71 and i got a blackberry curve 8520 for another connection. blackberry os was a confusing to get into intially since i am a first time bb user. The real beauty of this phone is its compact form feature packing the best in mail and messenger. Though i can vouch for nokia email messaging too.
Nokia gives a lot better eye candy features for the same price wherein if you subscribe to data plan which is cheap in india you get free nokia email messaging service. Whereas bb has to have a full BIS plan to enjoy the full features it has.
The OS of BB is very stable and that is one huge advantage over nokia and also the messenger service, provided your circle of contacts have blackberry with them. For other messenger service like google talk, yahoo , face book and twitter its also available on nokia.
This are some of points i have observed and would like you guys and girls to share more info.

The difference is BIS isn't compatible with other phones and 3G aren't fully compatible.

Ebi, 07 Mar 2010I have been using a Nokia E71, which is a good phone, no qu... moreThe only way I know of is saving them to your SIM card and then passing them off to your BB. But this will only save one number per contact, meaning you will have multiple names, one for each number you have on a contact, example: Jon 111-1111, 111-1112 will become Jon 111-1111 and another Jon/1 111-1112. Another way is syncing your Nokia's contact data bas with Outlook or Google and then use BB Desktop Manager to sync from Outlook or use Google Sync. I would go with Outlook because I've never used Google apps or Gmail.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hi! Make sure your browser (default) is set to Hotspot Browser for use on WiFi. For opera mini, I'm not sure how to set it up, I think you have to open opera, press menu, go to settings, and down where it says WiFi make sure it had a check mark.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2010Can we use the blackberry internet service in laptop by con... moreyes, but that is carrier dependant. In some places it is illegal to tether without a tethering plan. In my country I can tether, using the Desktop Manager. If your carrier doesn't allow it, you can purchase and app call Tether for BB and it allows you to tether.
