Hi guys i purchased the BB 8520 couple of days ago.. I have a problem operating the wifi. It connects to the network successfully but doest open any website. I also tried using opera mini 5.0. Can any

For Flash, use Bolt Browser. So far it is the only one to offer it, Opera Mini doesn't.

i will try my best to answer all of ur ques n get u to u/stand about gemini..
1) the highest resolution of video you can play is 320 x 240..but dont worry,to me this is decent already..n of coz u can play a movie on it,no prob..about the screen,i think both of them r same..both have the great screen..i tell u something my friend,even though u r under direct sunlight u still can read/view ur sms,mms,emails,ym,FB n so on..u also can take a gud picture too..i took a pic under direct sunlight n when i view it again no matter where,in the dark place also u can see the quality of the pic..
2) well,im not sure about to install any apps to solve the prob of browser not supporting flash..but with BB apps world,of coz there r tons of apps there..u will find one..ok,let be honest here..BB is totally diff with other fones..so,u need to know this..if u want to get all the advantages of ur BBs meaning to say,to get all the features that u suppose to get u need to subscribe the BIS which stands for Blackberry Internet Service..without the BIS,u still can get online via the wifi but u cant get all the benefits that u should have like u subscribes to the BIS..gemini has no probs at all in showing the full pages..i also always visit n post the comment to gsmarena via my gemini..the quality is same
like when u r browsing via ur laptop..but of coz this is only a hp..so the size must be tiny compared to laptop..

oka, 06 Mar 2010guys..help me choose,blackberry gemini or samsung b7320 or ... morei dont u/stand y u or other pple always ask some stupid ques like this..pardon me if what i said might hurt ur feelings but this is REALITY..plzz dude,1st of all u,urself need to be hardworking..get some info,make some good research about what u want n what u like b4 asking an opinion n the most important thing b4 u buy the device..me myself took about 2-3 months researching about BB especially this great gemini b4 made the decision in buying it..it worth the money u pay for this sleek little monster..fyi u cant get the 100% of the positive info that u wanted to know about something until u grab this device coz diff pple will put the diff opinion based on their hands on experience..so,my advice visit the nearest hp store get u "hand dirty" play with those devices u like n make the decision..i cant answer which one is good either the samsung what or gemini..coz i dont have the hands on exp with that samsung..coz as far as i concern im only using 3 hp from 3 hp makers only..apple,BB and nokia..n i dont want to be bias..but to me as a proud owner to this gemini i will say go for gemini..u will never know until u grab it n feel it..trust me,gemini has lot of things that will benefits u..all that u wanted have in here..

dasparion, 06 Mar 20103G drain ur batt faster if u max out its capability(use bot... morewow bro! applause to u self..it was so adorable to read ur comment..so informative..do u work with telco com anyway?? hehehe..anyway,to me whether it has a 3g or not is not a big deal to me..as i am so satisfied with my gemini..like i said b4,although IT DOESNT RUN IN 3G,only with EDGE..the performance in surfing the internet,ym n other things is so damn superb bro..yes,it is better to have the 3g inside gemini but the things is,it drains the battery fast..so cheers!

I have another question,can you instal some kind of application to solve the problem of browsers not suporting flash? And is not geting the BB plan a reason not to get the pfone? How does the browser show full pages not mobile ones,thanks again :-).

I would like to know what is the highest resolution of video you can play on the blackberry curve 8520,and is it possible to watch movies on it,because I like the design but I wonder is the screen any good or is the curve 8900(that is not that nice)a better choice. Thanks in advance :-)

btw,,, 3G r switchable... so however u hate it(LoL) its still okay, just 1 click n puff(gone), by that im sure addin' 3G still could be a great deal....

blackberrian, 05 Mar 2010dasparion, yes..i got ur point..but to me using the 3g wil... more3G drain ur batt faster if u max out its capability(use both data n normal voice/message line at same time) OR if u use dual mode OR if u have a crazy rodeo signal reception. others afaik will be not cz 3G only pick 1 or 2(from 3) radio freqs instead of GSM/edge which is on Quad band(4 freqs), as i said carrier divide connection to 2: BB APN n normal APN, most of carrier give special service to BB APN to make it more stable, then u'll see other who doesnt use BB fight for normal thin bandwidht.... fortunately some carrier here(dunno there) give some special service to some normal APN user to get some priority... i test both gemini n e63 for my full mobile use, gemini aprxly last 10hr, e63 aprx last 17.5hr LoL really need some boost here! now i manage them to do different n specific task... cz most of time im on 'the field' n do heavy task(so phones too) so i should get some distance out of electricity plug.... Anyway, cmiiw n suggestions r welcome...

yes..i got ur point..but to me using the 3g will decrease ur battery life for nothing..n to jrf is it true gemini has 1300 mah?as far as i know it only has 1150 mah(read the spec given)

dasparion, 05 Mar 2010i do know the EDGE performance,,, some(actually most of) ca... moreI'm not sure I understood that about 3G on an ordinary line and stuff, but my EDGE is fast enough for suring forums and light sites like that. It's true battery life isn't good when you use 3G or wifi. But, BB's have always had good battery life. But, this curve has a 1300 mAh battery (I think) nad it's enough to get 1-2 days of medium to heavy usage. I use mine alot, I disconnect my phone around 930am, use it all day for surfing forums, commenting, texting, calling and most of all FB+Windows Messenger. At the end of the day, aroung 1030pm I still have like 2.5 bars. Around 30%. Then I just leave in Standby mode, and charge it at 830 am when I wake up. And it still has at least 2 bars. That's plenty for a small battery taking on data 99% of the day I'm awake. Still the Bold which has a 1500mAh battery lasts a lot longer than that. Even the e71 which has a bigger battery too. But they are 3G, so I can probably get the same amount of usage but I'd be able to use YouTube without wifi!! And one thing I really don't like is that surfing on the internet, either 3G or EDGE on BB is slower than other phones. Mainly because it's not a WebKit browser (coming soon!!) and because BIS requires all data to go through RIM's servers before reaching your handset, this minimizes data size so you don't run-up a large bill if your data is limited.
