I am looking to upgrade my handset at the moment as my contract is nearing the end. I was just wondering, whether I should purchase the BB Bold 9700 or the BB 8520. I could either get the BB 8520 for £20 a month for 18 months or for slightly more the BB Bold 9700 for £25 a month but for a slightly longer period of time, 24 months.

I was also wondering, if you do not have an added internet plan, can you still access the internet and the blackberry app store via a wifi connection?

Any help, I will be greatfull.

                Thank you :)

The other positive aspect I would like to add about this handset is the trackpad as opposed to the previous Curve models that had a trackball.

The excellent thing about the trackpad is that it is able to move freely and easily across the fingers and you're able to navigate across the menu very smoothly.

In addition, with the trackball at times it can get dirty thus, the trackball could get stuck.

So far, the experience I have had with this handset is a 9/10. Something that is very rare for a me, who is a very critical user of mobiles since I have worked in the industry for 3 years.

bb 8520 is my latest phone. i love it so much & it does help me a lot..i'm a student & a lot of my study materials are in softcopy form...i can study on the go...with this bb,i don't have to carry around notebook/netbook.....

the wifi is kinda okay...surfing the internet is somewhat convenient...

2Mpx camera is nice, but i dunno how to turn off the 'click' sound everytime i snap a picture...that annoys me a bit...

overall,it's a budget bb..if you want a bb but doesn't cost you much, blackberry curve 8520 is just the right one for you!

Nam if price is not an issue I would go for the Bold.
It's faster, it's got better screan resolution and GPS with this phone you really do get what you pay for.

The only draw back on the 9000 is the track ball that will eventually start giving some problems as apposed to the track pad of the 8520.
