Kate, 15 Mar 2009Is this phone slow to use? As in, messaging, phoning or for... morethe woman doesn't know what shes talking about. i have one its seriously good in fact its the best phone i have. i also i have an iphone 2g that is cool and gimmicky, its pretty much just an ipod touch with a phone feature. the iphone is quick but when loaded up with tunes it lags a bit. the blackberry is smooth. i couldn't believe it. its just so good to use. only thing is the keys a re really small so u'll need to have small fingers or use ur nails.
p.s drag and drop media files using the cable included. divx straight from download no need to convert. cheers axxo ;0 apple suck on dat!! (i do like apple though)

I absolutely love my BlackBerry Curve 8900. The picture quality is amazing! I have everything I could possibly need at my fingertips. I even have about 30 channels on my television feature. The only thing that I don't like very well is that it does not take much water to damage the phone. Mine was only splashed with water and it was totally ruined. I had to get a new phone. If you do have the BlackBerry and you have this a run-in with water or any liquid, you can tell if it is ruined if the white strip on the battery has red x's on it. That means it has water damage! You can try popping the battery out and putting it in a bowl of rice. (dried, raw rice of course) The battery needs to be down in the rice and set the phone (without the back cover) on top of the rice to soak up the water. Leave it in the rice for about a day. Sometimes this will soak the water up and take care of the problem. It may or may not take care of the problem. It is worth a try so that you don't have to buy a new phone if you don't have the insurance.

As to Anonymous below, I have a Memoir and I don't think there's much comparison between it and the BlackBerry 8900. The Memoir is a camera with a phone. It doesn't have a processor. It's nice for multimedia, but the 8900 is a business oriented phone. They're unique to their particular audience. I love my Memoir. It's picture quality is incredible, but it has some quirks in the UI. I wouldn't mind having a 8900 for it's wi-fi, open qwerty keyboard, big/bright screen, and business apps. However, I already have a Nokia 5310, the Memoir, and a Nokia 6600 fold, so another phone isn't in my immediate future. If Nokia ever gets their 5800 ear speaker and NAM 3G problems resolved I'll be getting it before anything else.
