The 8900 will surely allow you to connect to the net if you have an active subscription with your service provider(like bsnl, airtel, vodafone). it will either connect through edge or through gprs!

          Enjoy!

People at Blackberry if you are reading this, then..

i think your strategy is not going to work in the mainstream. One handset has wifi, other doesnt. One has 3g, other handset doesnt. Look at Nokia, world's number 1 cellphone manufacturer and top selling in terms of market share. They have 3G and Wifi as a standard now on every Nokia Phone and millions of 3rd party softwares.

The only downturn in Nokia phones is one handset has low performance camera other has a high performance camera. thats easy to live with but blackberrys one has wifi and the other no 3g. WTF..!!!

i was seriously thinking of buying this phone but after i used a friend's curve8900, i was disappointed by the EDGE-Only Internet Connection.

Vince, 05 Jan 2009Im thinking of buying the 8900. My provider doesnt support ... moresuggest you need a new supplier.. a network not supporting Blackberry these days is shocking.. you can still get your email via Pop 3 using the BIS service. Any mobile network should provide BIS or BES tariff options..

Im thinking of buying the 8900. My provider doesnt support blackberry's. if I use it as a contact and appointment manager does it sync very easily? and can I get my emails through wifi?

ive had the pearl curve and bold and now im getting this fone. its way sleeker nice keypad too. bold is ok but 3g network still needs work. javelin has wifi which will work better than bold on 3g anyway. bb is much better with edge fones. my curve inet works just as fast as bold and doesnt freeze all the time like bold. bold is too new still needs kinks to be fixed.

We have gone to 3g era. Any phone which is 2g will not be competitive in the market. No one wants snails speed internet
