I can't avail of Globe's data services with my 8900 because they say it's not Globe-provided and because I've already used it under another network (abroad). Is there something I can do about this besides buying a new unit from Globe?

G_CapeTown, 20 Jan 2010Hi, I need to decide between the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and ... moreHi. I've recently swapped my BB Curve 8900 to an iPhone 3gS and heres my opinions.
I wanted to change because i wasnt happy with the battery life on the BB, i was having to charge a couple of times a day sometimes. I always wanted an iPhone though and when it got released onto Vodafone in the UK, it made my mind up. The BB is better for camera and opening word/excel docs etc but for me, the iPhone just pips it with the overall functions on it to be honest. Its a close call and they are both fairly evenly matched but for me the winner (just about) is the iPhone.

sor starters...i-phone's user interface is simply unmatched. The applications that you can download are undeniably remarkable (yes, even the free ones)...and if there are still any doubts, then there's this whole new world called the i-tunes store which would put those doubts to rest

Nah i disagree that i-phones are the best phones, they may be quality but how they are made lets them down dramtically. I work for a fone insurance company and i-phones are the most common phones for breakage, the front screens are made of glass and one drop of that phone its smashed and ruined, Blackberry touch phone is alot more handy, the screen is brilliant, BLackberry all the way and im sure anyone who has one agrees ;-)

profootball, 14 Jan 2010automatic key lock yes...... if you put it in your leather ... moreIn reply to pro football, easier said than done. Its such an effort to fit it in the holster and while sliding it the keys inevitably get pressed before it can get locked. And if the phone is already locked and you answer or reject a call, it automatically unlocks and has to be manually locked again. This phone is crap.

The web browser on this phone is horrible. Navigation is difficult, does not support flash player which means hundreds of websites are inaccessible. Furthermore lack of 3G makes browsing very slow and frustrating.

two days ago i got my first berry, 8900, due to some partners and i have some issues i wanna ask about
1. i cannot receive any bt item. always when i got bt connected with other phone, it displays a/v remote mode and the other phone cannot connect.
2. the inbox is hidden deep down in the messages menu.is there any way to get a shorcut on my home screen with inbox , like i do with my Nokias
thats for beggining.
frankly, i thought that berries are more easy to use. i use meanwhile an E71 and a 3G and there is nothing i can complain about, they are flawless. i think maybe im not familiar with berry menu, otherwise i guess that ill sell it.
thanks in advance
