IVE just bought this as my chritmas present to myself..Its my first BB and taking a bit of getting used to and setting up but nearly their.I got it yesterday on vida uk and on prepay they are doing free internet BB plan worth 5GBP till june next year.

I can only get edge where i am and battery is still on first charge.Music is clear and options are plentuful.I am usimg a sandisk 32GB card which is no problen for BB 3g 9105 but my N86 i have really struggled with it.So far my BB experiance has been positive and if this more multimedia spec BB had not been laaunched i would still not have been tempted to buy BB.

I got a free upgrade from Orange for the BB Pearl and I am sorry to say, like half the phones on the market these days the signal was pretty poor.Whilst I get a full signal on my trusty Nokia 6310i the BB regularly would lose the network. I have now sent it back and gone back to my 8 year old Nokia. However, if you can see by the signal issues and loss of service it really has other uses albeit none spring to mind apart from it made a lovely paper weight.

Why are Blackberry phones priced so high? It costs INR 20,000 but a similiar Nokia phone would probably cost only half the price( E55 is only INR 11,000). Is there anything that makes it worth the extra expense?

whaye, 23 Oct 2010hi james, i using a e55 nokia and as you am a great fan o... morewayhe

hi wayhe, nokia e series phones have been a great line up from nokia and i myself was going to upgrade my nokia e51 to a e52 but instead opted for the bb pearl 9105.

your current phone (nokia e55) is a Series 60 symbian smartphone, however the nokia c3 or c3-01 is a series 40 (not a smartphone platform), so going from a smartphone to a box standard os such as series 40 is not really advisable.

blackberrys are great to use, the bb pearl will get upgraded to bb os6 which will bring much needed improvements from the current os 5 including a webkit brower, generally the os is pretty easy to use and not complicated at all. you will need to subscribe (monthly fee) to a BES or BIS (blackberry service) account with your network provider to be able to use the services from blackberry, i.e, blackberry messenger, blackberry emails, blackberry maps, blackberry app world...etc. you can however still use the handset for calls and texts without a BES or BIS account but you will not benefit from the bb services.

the games on blackberrys are not great at all and found that games available for nokia symbian phones (including n-gage games) were far better, there just arent any good games for blackberry phones. however the apps on blackberry app world are far far better then those available on nokias ovi store or for symbian.

i would recommend you actually have a play around with the handset first to get the jist of things and what to expect from blackberrys, i myself am very happy with my bb pearl 9105 and have no regrets.

                                hope this helps.
