This phone is great! especially for someone who doesnt like qwerty button like me.Everything works perfect! but just to remind, if you use for browsing, might hurts your eyes as the screen is quite small.

Sreekanth, 15 Oct 2010Guys,
This phone does not have a camera in the front panel... moresreenkanth
the pearl 3G 9105 does not have a front facing camera for video call and the back case camera cannot be used either, i guess this is a feature RIM have left out for whatever reason they have. although it would be a good feature to have. however the handset does support full 3G/HSDPA for internet connections, streaming, uploading and downloading
in terms of no camera for video calling being a drawback comes down to if u would need that feature and how important it is.

Light, compact, easy to use, The connection running in 3G very stable just Like onyx. So if you are saying that onyx is too big for you, and you prefer multitap and suretype in one device you should aim for this.
Camera, user interface is much much faster compare to 8220 not to mention with the pearl 1 Generation. Very recommended and been ejoying in using the device.

Guys,
This phone does not have a camera in the front panel. How do we use this for Video calls when using a 3G network? Other phones have a camera in the front panel too right ? Is this not a drawback of this phone? or there is any alternative???

it comes down to personal preferance, do want to use a handset that has a qwerty keypad or a 14 button keypad. just to get one thing clear the pearl 9105 supports wifi b/g/n which is better and going to become the standard for wifi, RIM were good enough to pack it into the pearl 9105. in terms of everything else the bold 9700 and the pearl 9105 are exactly the same in features and quality. hope this helps you

not everyone wants a qwerty keypad handset or a suretype/qwerty keypad handset.
by a long distance the most handsets sold in the world are those with the traditional 12 key numeric keypad, RIM were clever enough to see this and tap into this market.
well done to RIM because myself and some of my friends who use the blackberry pearl 9105 love it. the features and size of the handset are excellent and on top of that the pearl 9105 will get the blackberry OS 6 update very soon, you cant get better then that :)
i moved away from using nokia e series phones which was very hard as i was a loyal nokia customer for years. my last phone was a nokia e51 and i was going to purchase a nokia e52 but after a lot of research i opted for the blackberry pearl 9105, all i can say is i have no regrets at all. dont get me wrong i also love using nokia e series phones and my nokia e51 will always be my standby phone, however as for now its all about my blackberry pearl 9105 and i dont want to change from it.

I dont see no difference between the pearl 9100 and 9105 apart from the keypad design & construction, they look preety similar in every other aspect & specification. Wonder why RIM would waste valuable time producing to similar handsets with exactly the same features
