No The pearl does not have wifi. In the data section of the specifications it says WLAN: No. That means it does not have wifi. I also know this from experience with the device.

I'd say get it if you're gonna pay $20+ for email service.

    Good:
    email
    slim/compact

    Bad:
    cheap materials
    ugly keypad designed(center column)
    no wifi/video recording
    1.3 mp (not 2-3mp)

MUSIC/VIDEO -have to press menu every time to change track
PICTURES-viewing pictures the same thing..has to go back everytime to select a new one.

on the side/top-fingerprint on the glossy parts.

cannot delete all contacts at once. can only do one at a time.
default to work number on all contacts
low volume when playing music. it gets slow too when playing video

I have or should I say had a Treo (600) and I've replaced it 3 times. Today will be my fourth. Broken antenna to thing won't come on. I am seriously thinking about get the Pearl but I have been reading the posts and ya'll are scaring me (hahaha). I had the Treo cause I have a Mac. But not I have a laptop and wanted to explore. Please someone give me several reasons why or why I should not get the Pearl over replacing my current phone ( which is free ).

Here is another blackberry pearl fix:

Number recognition: callers number is not recognised. This is a settings issue. Go to the phone app (press the send key), select options, then Smart Dialling. Set the Country code to +44 (for UK)

There is a fix for the 2 second answer thing, follow below::::::

Go into the call log and press the menu key Scroll to OPTIONS and select Highlight SMART DIALLING and select Scroll to and select to access office extensions within my corporation call number: wait for: and change to “my response” Now scroll to and select access extensions in all other corporations call the number then wait for: and change to “my response” Now reboot the device

I have had my Blackberry for 2 weeks, here are the pros and cons I have found so far.

                            Good points -
                            e-mail.
                            Its a Blackberry.

                            Bad points -
                            Battery cover keeps falling off.
Takes 2 or 3 seconds to conect on answering.
                            No video camera.
Bluetooth will not always pair with others.
                            Speech recognition awful.

But what a cool looking phone

I use it for 2 weeks now.
                              1. Don't buy it if U don't use BlackBerry e-mail account. U will just throw away money for options U can not use.
                              2. Conversation sound is always more or less metallic - on both sides.
                              3. Otherwise phone is good, but not sensational.

There is no movie recording, no radio, no WiFi. Paired with BT car stereo (Pioneer P75BT) without problems.

RIM and PocketMac - Retarded people could not have stuffed the solution up more.

The pearl is a great phone. The only problem is the battery life. I only get a day or so.

It's stupid how it says the Pearl has video, when it doesn't. That's messed up.
