About battery time: This depends very much on how you use your phone. I am using it mostly for calls, SMS, E-mails, notepad, a little net browsing (FireFox) and with that I get about 5 hours SOT (Screen On Time). If I dont use it much, stand by time can get pretty good - one week easily (with about 1 or 2 SOT).
Here is little tip for extending your battery life a little: Apps that you use most, choose dark theme (preferably black) since screen is OLED and it will benefit from it.
Keep in mind that if you install apps that run in background you might decrease your battery life significantly.
CPU seems bit slower comparing to competitors for that price tag, but overall I think that is the best phone.
I am using a lot physical keyboard and it is good (tho it could be improved).
Only thing I am really missing is stand by screen (to show clock and some indicators when phone goes in standby/sleep).

Aram1976, 25 Sep 2016Hello, do you have an idea what will happen if blackberry e... moreDon't think they will exit the smartphone business, Blackberry CEO John Chen said there will be 2 phones by February 2017...Dtek 50 was one of them and the rumoured Dtek 60 could be release at the start of 2017 or later. Another point why i can't see them exiting is because their Dtek 50 was quite well received by major corporate companies as it's cheap and reliable.
Reason why the Priv didn't do so well like iPhone 6S or the S7 is not because of the hefty pricing of the Priv, but rather Blackberry didn't invest much on marketing unlike Apple and Samsung

Not really sure about how much screen time because i didn't really measured it but on a normal usage let's say 7am to 7pm when i'm out studying, i still left with 25% to 30% of battery life left from a full charge the night before

AnonD-585417, 15 Sep 2016Hey Friends..i am seeking to buy this phone still confused ... moreI've been using the Priv and the battery has no issues, not even overheating issues. In fact after the Android 6.0 Marshmellow update, this phone performs very smoothly without any overheating.
Blackberry promises to update their system every month and really stick to their promise. Every month you will receive security updates or system updates that optimizes your phone to perform better.
No issues with android apps. All performs smoothly except loading of apps will be slower than other brands due to the encryption of data on Blackberry phones but a little slower loading of apps isn't an issue, just be patient

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2016Pls how did u solve the heating issue cos it's really givin... moreGo over in your APP Setting section and select ALL. It seems there is a lots of garbage installed from third party, especially AMZN. That is on mine at Verizon Wireless USA.
Look at the image below.

Go over all the apps, you do not need or deemed not essential to your use. Deselect first the marker "Show Notifications" (below the Force stop)
1. Click on the Force stop button for those apps you dont like to be running. (they will still be in your listings, just out of memory)
2. Click Disable to those you dont need. It will uninstall some and put some to sleep.
Heating problem solved.
Those apps I have in my memory.

Phone runs hot on some tasks as continues map, video and some big downloads, but it cools quickly once you turn those off. Also once you are done with the phone, click on the square button below and clear all the log. It clears the memory.
It seems Snapdragon 808 is throttling with many files in the memory.
Also, go to the settings select More and tap on Cellular Networks/Preferred network type, select only those who are supported by your current wireless provider. Avoid using Global.
