I'm using blackberry Q5 almost 1 year and Q5 very friendly user compare than others..no problem at all..superb text messaging..nice keypad and easy to use..I recommend this phone to my friend

hi all this is suresh i have been using this phone since 1 year really i love this phone if u are chating lover then this is the best for us even i have a iphone 5s but i love blackberry with out any doubt u can go for this phone sureky you'll love this phone

Special BlackBerry plan is not required because this has BlackBerry OS10. For BlackBerry OS 10, you don't need any BlackBerry Plan. Hope this clarifies your doubt.

For all those who want to buy blackberry I would like to clarify that this phone doesnt need blackberry internet services BIS. Can use this phone just like any other android or any other OS smart phone. Can setup emails can install most of the apps on normal internet data plans. Best high quality phone with minimal budget. Worth spending every penny on it. The keypad is awesome. This content is also being typed on blackberry Q5. If u r planning to buy and have a budget within 13000 INR this is the best phone. If you are android crazy the stay away from this phone.

Any normal internet plan will do which your service provider provides and you can also set up any kind of email services. BIS is not needed can use like any other android or any OS smart phone.enjoy

I really want to like this phone. The OS is very powerful and a joy to use. Incompatibility with the square screen ratio aside (and there are many instances), I'm really disappointed with the build quality of the Q5.
First I noticed that the camera lens and flash covers are poorly fixed on the phone. They can be easily pushed inward 3-4mm like they are fixed on with adhesive foam.
The other issue occurred when the phone fell a half meter onto a bathroom mat. It was inside the oem hard shell case (a dual layer case) yet the phone housing began to separate, and the media buttons had popped halfway out of the case. I suppose a tab that keeps the phone housing together has broken off, because now there always a gap in the phone housing that refuses to stay closed.
I definitely don't feel that this phone is worth the $150 CDN I paid for it. I've used 20 or more phones in the past two years for reviews, samples and development testing, and this phone is one of the most poorly constructed ones I've come across.

Guyz Guyz, I have been using Q5 for 11 months, if u plan to buy a good value for your money go and get in no problems at all

just a quick update to all the users and future buyers of this phone. I apologize if you are already aware of this.
but initially I thought the battery was kind of giving some trouble with low battery backup (better than android Samsung phone though). But just yesterday I changed the signal specification from 3g to Edge (2g) and since then it has been giving excellent battery backup. by default the phone is set to 3g&2g but set it only 2g edge and you will not be disappointed with the battery,
Awesome phone with awesome features.
Also, heard that some android apps are compatible. didn't try yet, will try shortly and shall update on gsmarena.
